I can tell by the happiness Soph's emitting, she's very happy to see her old friend.

"Mel, what did he mean by 'try not to get zapped'?" I have to call her Mel just in case people over hear us.

"Well, we are supposed to bottle things in that class. Including lightning, soooo, you get his point." I try not to panic, and wonder how she knew that.

"How do you know." She shivers at the thought.

"I almost got hit on my first day, and I got the other assignment wrong. I thought those days would be the end of me." I can't blame her, lots of bad things have happened.

"Well, now I got this! No botching assignments now!" She says it with so much enthusiasm, I laugh.

Sophie

"It wasn't that bad, right Ruy?" We are heading towards lunch. He barely avoided getting zapped, he put up a forcefield at the last moment.

He glares at me, we have no place to go. Stina has detention and I have no clue where the twins are.

"Where the hell are the twins and Wylie. Without Stina we are basically lost!"

"Ruy, do you really think I know. Do you want me to yell in everyone's mind, scream 'WHERE THE HELL ARE MY TWINS', Mesmer someone to find them for us, or use almost any one of my powers to find them?" I whisper hiss, I'm not supposed to show any of my powers, except for my key five.

Before he responds, Jensi pops up. "If you have nowhere to go, we have extra room. But be warned, my friends are different."

I smile, "Yes Jensi, we would like that very much. We don't care about 'differences', we live in so much weirdness already."

He smiles at that and leads us over to the same table he did years ago.

"Hey guys, this was the girl and guy I was talking about. Mel and Ruy, meet the drooly boys. Drooly boys, meet Mel and Ruy."

We nod our heads at them.

Just as they did years ago, they spoke vaguely and said way too much 'dude's. Good old times.

Like clockwork, Marella comes around. I don't even listen to her as she reintroduces herself.

"It's good to see you again, Mare." To her credit, she doesn't flinch. "I missed you."

I say it so softly I fear she didn't hear me.

"I missed you as well, Soph." She says it quietly back, I could barely hear.

"Sitting with them will be social suicide, if—," She start but gets interrupted by an angry Jensi.

"Isn't that the same thing you said to Sophie? If she stayed with us, maybe she wouldn't have died. Because of you, Mare," He says mockingly, she hates when people call her that. "She was dragged away from us, the safe people. You let her swim with the vipers, after Sophie died they just replaced her. With you! They don't care about you!"

"Jensi, it's fine. I know where I'm going, and to whom. You don't need to worry. Tell your brother 'the swans say hi'." I smile with him and walk with Mare.

"Uhhh, Mare, what was that about?" I'm purely curious.

"After you 'died' he became cold to them. After the 'replaced' me with you, he began shunning me too. He's still the same boy, just scared, mentally." I frown, knowing it's my fault.

I hope with the code I gave him, his brother tells him about me. But why shun Mare, it's not her fault they just 'replaced' me.

"Oh, well I'll just go with you. Where are the twins?" I need to know where my best friends are.
