"M-My.....Diamonds?" The orange Quartz stutters nervously.

"Jasper"  White Diamond begins, her tone restrained but firm, "We have come to find out about some highly irresponsible and inappropriate actions on your part. Steven here has brought you before us so that your fate can be determined, whether by our hands or his own. How that is ultimately decided is up to you".

"But, my Diamonds..." Jasper tries to say, "He can't be trusted. He is the enemy".

"Silence, Jasper!" Blue Diamond snaps loudly, making Jasper shut up, "You will speak when you're permitted to speak and nothing else! And your accusatory remarks towards Steven do not help your case from what he has willingly portrayed your situation to be!".

"And do not mistake our hesitance or apparent willingness to hear you out as a change of heart" Yellow Diamond adds, her arms still crossed, "If it weren't for Steven, Blue and I would've had no trouble with shattering you ourselves right where you stand. Your guilt has effectively been confirmed by the irrefutable proof that Steven has been willing to provide along with the logs of his ship provided by the onboard AI. White did say that your fate needs to be determined, but I think you need to know that it means whether you should be harvested, shattered, or corrupted, all options that I would be satisfied with".

Jasper is visibly shaking and it's probably one of the first and only times I've ever seen her scared for her life. And believe it or not, I actually do feel a bit bad for her. She did try to kill me, but I've had that happen to me so many times that simply acknowledging it doesn't surprise much anymore. I mean, Lapis and Peridot tried to murder me too and one of them is my best friend while the other is my girlfriend. That doesn't mean Jasper shouldn't be reprimanded for what she did, but I do think that the Diamond's ways aren't what is best for her. And, in fact, I've done some thinking on the journey to Homeworld and I came to realize some things. I'll say what they are in a minute, but I first walk up next to Jasper and gaze down at what the "perfect gem" has been reduced to. After nothing happens, I look up to the Diamonds.

"Well, what are your recommendations for Jasper's punishment?" I ask, wanting to hear what they're thinking.

"Shattering" Blue responds immediately.

"I also think she should be shattered" Yellow pipes in, Jasper trembling more.

"And what about you, White?" I inquire.

"Well, I suppose that shattering would be a valuable lesson, so I'll agree with Blue and Yellow and say that Jasper should be shattered,"  White says casually.

"Hmm" I reply, the Diamonds frowning.

"Do you not think so?" Blue asks, her tone more gentle since she's only speaking to me, "Or perhaps you have a better idea?".

"Uh..well, I guess it'd be the second of those two questions, Blue" I answer, not sure how they'll react to what I'm about to say.

"Well, by all means, share what you're thinking"  White encourages, Yellow and Blue watching me passively.

"My suggestion is that after she's given some time in isolation to think about her actions, Jasper can be given my role in association with Homeworld" I say.

The Diamonds just blink in surprise, not saying anything. In fact, the entire room is silent with not a word coming from any of the Crystal Gems either.

"You...want to hand over your position...to Jasper?" Yellow asks for confirmation, struggling to accept what I said.

"Yes" I nod, even Jasper herself looking at me with confusion.
