The feeling of stepping outside of your warm house into the chilly cold air did not compare to the how low my body temperature became for the sake of fear.

The last time I was this scared was when I was 13, walking home alone from school and encountering a pack of dogs. Big dogs too. I surly thought I'd be mauled and police would find my corps hours later but fortunately they where merciful enough to walk away and let me run home.

The moment Overhaul kidnapped me was the most terrifying. It is the moment that lead me up to here now.

I didn't know what to think now. My fight or flight was stunned into confusion. I could barely process the fact that Marai had ordered some grim man to end my life, and his wide evil grin looked like he didn't have a problem with fallowing orders.

The mystery guy was tall, I instantly thought I'd be killed by slender man himself. He pushed back his is obnoxiously slicked back hair and saw through a pair of crazy heterochromic eyes of black and white. He definitely didn't work for overhaul.

"This pregnant broad?" He asked pointing a long finger my direction "Why her? I expected a lil competition lady."

"You want the money or not?!" Merai seethed, crossing her arms while keeping a livid eye on me.

With a shrug he caved. "Fair enough."

"Are you fucking serious, Merai?!" I shrieked, I tried not to show that I was scared, but my voice was so shaky I wasn't doing a good job at hiding the fact. "You're seriously trying to kill me?! What the hell have I done to you?"

"What do you think?! You took my Chisaki- kun away from me!"

"I didn't take anything that was never yours!"

"How would you know? I finally found someone who was perfect for my plan and you garbage piece of shit came out of no where. Removing you will fix everything."

Her plan? What does she mean by that?

Clearly she doesn't know I'm being held here against my will.

"Hurry up and kill the bitch before someone comes around-,"

BANG

The raven haired girl's eyes grew impossibly wide out of shock, body flinching when the loud gunshot went off. Her black eyes zeroed into her hired assassin, now with a bullet searing deep through his chest.

My hand was already on the gun before they even entered the room. I didn't want to risk my life by waiting around so I took a chance and pulled the trigger on the him.

Before Merai could get a word out, said assassin fell to his knees then splattered to the floor, coughing up his last remaining breaths while choking on blood.

"Damn it... you- y- you ain't tell me she was armed."

"I- I didn't-!"

Poor  Merai couldn't even get all her words out, watching as her plane B went flying right out the window.

I've fired a gun many times, one of my favorite pass times now, but actually using it to take someone's life left me in this feeling I've never felt while being scared to death.

I felt cold

shaky

Scared

Powerful.
