"You guys are all good except for one thing," Dan said. "What is it?"
We still need a name.
"Oh my gosh. We didn't even think about that." Dan chuckled. "Well, we did have a good list of names. I want you to pick his name and I'll pick our future daughters name. What does he look like to you?"
I looked down at my baby boy. He looked so peaceful. I could tell that he was going to be an energetic kid, but a good one.
"Josh," I said. "His name is Josh."
"I like it," said Dan. I smiled before the nurse interrupted us. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but other people would like to see you," she said. I nodded at her before Luke and Garrett made their way in.
"Welcome back, Sky. You have no idea how worried Dan was. Even I was really worried," Luke said. I stuck my tongue out at him. "Garrett! I can't believe you're here. Thank you so much for helping them find me. I'm also really sorry about Trevor. It must have been hard for you to see him die, even though he isn't the same person you knew before."
Garrett gave me a sad smile and squeezed my shoulder. "It wasn't easy, but I think it was for the best. And all thanks to Brittany, as weird as that may sound.
"Speaking of which, can I go see her?" I asked them. Everyone's mood dropped. "I know it's weird, but I want to thank her," I said. Dan looked at me and sighed. "Brittany didn't make it," he said sadly.
"What do you mean she didn't make it?"
"Brittany was on some hard drugs. Trevor was her provider and also her boyfriend. She was going through a bad withdrawal and followed him up here to get some drugs off of him. She was already delusional as it was and this whole thing set her off. She killed him because of how angry she was about him just using her. The doctors tried everything, but she ended up having a heart attack.
"Oh my God," I said. "She's really gone."

A few days passed and we were back in Toronto. My parents were both excited to see me safe and meet their first grandchild. Ave was really happy to see Josh and me and helped out so I could finally relax.
I was more than surprised when I walked into the nursery for the first time. Everything was decorated perfectly. Dan had somehow gotten my dad to make a sign with Josh's name on it and hang it on top of his crib.
When I first walked through the door Jack ran at me, but didn't jump. It's like he knew I had a baby in my arms. Jack refused to sleep anywhere but the nursery. He slept right in front of the crib so he could protect little Josh.
"Hey, Sky, Ave told us that she could watch Josh for a bit while we go shopping," Dan said, which interrupted my little daydream. I put Josh's teddy bear down and turned around. "Let's go do this," I said before putting my hand in Dan's and slowly walking down the stairs.

Brittany's funeral was so strange to me. Her parents sat alone in one corner and weren't even crying. Her little sister was standing next to the casket the entire time sobbing.
"I can't believe she had to go through all of that," I told Dan quietly. "I know what you mean. We found her grandparents. They're actually really nice people. She'll be moving down to live with them in Dallas," he said.
"What about her parents?" I asked him. Dan scoffed. "As if they cared. Either way, she doesn't want to see them. They actually don't care. No wonder Brittany was the way she was. All neglect from the parents," he said.
"Let's be the opposite of her parents. Let's be like my parents and your parents. Slightly strict, but still awesome," I said. Dan chuckled and nodded. "We're going to be awesome parents," he said before getting up.
"We should go home now. They're going to be taking her to the cemetery soon," he said. "Can we go along?" Dan looked at me strangely, but agreed.
After the burial was over I set a white rose down at Brittany's grave. "I know I was never your favourite person and you were never mine, but I just have to say thank you and I'm sorry," I sighed out the last part.
"I didn't know how tough your life was. I'm sorry you had to go through all of that. This world works in mysterious ways and maybe you can hear me right now. Thank you so much for saving Josh and me that day. If it weren't for you we would've died. Thank you so much Brittany. I really mean it. I hope you have a happy afterlife and rest in peace. I'll visit every year," I promised before I made my way towards Dan.
"That was very nice of you," he said as he wiped the tear that had escaped. "Now let's get home so we can spend some time with our son," he said before we went back home to our new beginning.
