"You know that you watch too many medical dramas." Toby said as he looked up at her. "Maybe, but seriously though I think that's what's going on with you, and I think that I should probably take you to the hospital." Spencer said, but of course Toby shook his head. "N-no, that's not necessary. I-it's honestly already getting better." He said but she obviously wasn't buying that and rolled her eyes. "Tobes, you realize that I can tell how much pain you're in right now, especially considering you almost never complain about pain." She said gently. "Okay, yeah, B-but I can't go to the hospital, you know that I hate hospitals, not to mention being cooped up in those uncomfortable beds." Toby said. "Of course I know that, we have that In common you know that, but-" She started but Toby cut her off. "Just let me stay here, I'd much rather you take care of me than random nurses, you know that. Please Spence." He whispered desperately and Spencer just stared at him for a few seconds, she ultimately sighed in defeat, she couldn't resist his puppy dog eyes.
"Okay, okay. I'm going to call your doctor and let him know what's going on, and I'll see what he recommends. I'll be right back, okay?" She said softly and he nodded but said nothing because it hurt too much, she gave him a sad smile before planting a gentle kiss to his forehead and then she went to his bedroom and pulled out her cellphone to call his doctor while Toby stayed on the couch trying not to think too much about how much pain he was in.
About Ten Minutes Later
Spencer came back into the living room, her eyes landed on Toby who was curled up in a ball on the couch, her heart breaking at the sight of him like that. As she got closer to the couch, he eventually heard her approaching footsteps and he carefully lifted his head up to look at her, he was relieved that she was back.
"Okay, I talked it over with your doctor, and as long as there's no signs of bleeding or anything, I can just keep you here and we'll see how you're feeling tomorrow." Spencer said as she sat back down next to him, he nodded before laying his head down on her chest as he tried to breathe through the pain. "G-good. I have the best nurse here anyway." He whispered and she smiled softly at him. "Well thank you for that compliment. Tobes, you shouldn't have kept pushing yourself so hard at your training, that was most definitely making the ulcer worse." Spencer said as she ran his hand through his hair soothingly. "I couldn't stop though, I just wanted to get it over with so I could come home to you." Toby whispered as he looked up at her and tried to give her a small smile, but it came out as more of a grimace.
"Look at you, in all of this pain yet still trying to be cute right now. I mean in your defense I know that you didn't know that you had an ulcer, but still." Spencer said as she continued to run her hand through his hair. "I-I know… I'm sorry…" Toby said before wincing in pain again. "Hey, stop apologizing. This isn't your fault. I don't want you feeling guilty, okay?" She said and Toby nodded before taking a shaky deep breath. "O-okay." Toby said before taking another shaky deep breath. "What can I do?" Spencer asked him, she hated seeing him in so much pain like this, he pushed himself to sit up and then he laid his head down on her shoulder, but his hand was still gripping his stomach and she knew that the pain must still be pretty bad. "N-nothing, just you bring here with me is enough." He said and Spencer nodded. "Okay, you just try to get some rest or something, I'm right here." She soothed to him before kissing his forehead, she could tell that he was exhausted, and rightfully so. All of his training, stress, plus the drive back home, she just hopes that he's able to get some sleep without the ulcer bothering him too much, which it already is anyway but she's hoping that he can find some way to get comfortable enough to get some sleep. "Tobes, come here." She said as she moved to the far end of the couch so she could lay down, Toby then curled up on top of her and laid his head on her chest and tried to get some sleep, Spencer smiled softly to herself as she ran her hand through his hair comfortingly, hoping he'd be able to get some sleep.
