Chapter 12: Dreaming at Night

Yue Fei: I want a study room.

Gu Wei did not reply for a long time.

When Yue Fei was about to fall asleep, the sound of opening and closing the door rang in the house, and his cell phone vibrated.

Gu Wei came back and replied to his message.

Yue Fei clicked to read it.

Gu Wei: Just tell Tang Yue.

Yue Fei scratched his head. He seemed to be taking up Gu Wei's time with trivial matters.

After replying to Gu Wei's message, Yue Fei put the phone back on the bedside table and closed his eyes to go back to sleep.

In his dream, Yue Fei fell into a rabbit hole, and the surrounding area was dark. He heard someone calling him, so he followed the voice.

He was walking when suddenly he stepped onto thin air, and his body fell. After a while, the world was filled with light. He fell from the entrance of the hole and saw the endless fields and lakes beneath him.

He fell onto the soft grass without sustaining any injuries, patted his pants and stood up.

"Welcome to my kingdom, from now on, you will be my subject."

A familiar voice rang in his ears, and Yue Fei remembered this was the voice that attracted him to go forward in the dark.

He turned around and saw a man wearing vintage bloomers. The man was holding a scepter in his hand, and his eyes were critical and contemptuous.

Yue Fei heard himself say: "I don't want to be your subject."

Hearing he said that, the man sneered. He took out a piece of paper out of nowhere and threw it on the grass in front of Yue Fei.

"In one hour, complete this exam. If you pass, I will send you out. If you fail, you will stay here forever as my slave."

Yue Fei looked down. There were dense advanced math problems written on the paper, and he suddenly felt desperate.

Two or three questions are okay. It would be too difficult for him to finish these twenty questions in one hour. How could he complete them?

"There are too many questions, your condition is unreasonable." Yue Fei protested.

The man took out a pocket watch from his chest, ignored Yue Fei's protest, and said indifferently: "Time has started."

The man glanced at him: "Go ask Tang Yue."

After getting dressed and walked out of his room, Aunt Chen had already cooked breakfast, Yue Fei walked over, and Gu Wei sitting on the sofa in the living room glanced at him.

Looking at Gu Wei, Yue Fei remembered the weird dream he had and could not help but smile and greeted him: "You haven't gone to work yet?"

Gu Wei gave a hum.

Seeing the smile on the boy's face was too obvious, Gu Wei asked him: "In a good mood?"

Yue Fei: "It can be better, if you don't force me to do advanced math problems."

Gu Wei: "Huh?"

Yue Fei watched him sitting on the sofa as if he were not in a hurry, so he sat down on the sofa across from him and talked about the dream he had yesterday.

After listening to Yue Fei, Gu Wei grasped the key point: "You are not good at advanced math?"

Yue Fei: "...Yes."

"Tang Yue is a top 2 graduate student," Gu Wei said.

The meaning of this was that you can find Tang Yue if you need help.

He did not expect Tang Yue to be this intellectual. Yue Fei nodded his head understanding and said, "I will."

After chatting for a bit, Aunt Chen called Yue Fei from the kitchen, announcing that breakfast was ready.

Yue Fei got up: "Mr. Gu, have you had breakfast, let's eat together?"

Gu Wei looked at his watch, nodded in response, got up and walked to the dining table.

Yue Fei followed behind him.

Seeing that Gu Wei also stayed to eat, Aunt Chen was a little surprised, but she did not say anything. She prepared two more side dishes neatly.

"Mr. Gu, do you like Chinese or Western style breakfast? I can ask Aunt Chen to prepare more in the future." Yue Fei asked him.

Gu Wei: "Chinese style is fine."

Yue Fei automatically understood that Gu Wei prefers Chinese style over Western style: "Uh, I also like Chinese style, I've been eating it all my life."

Gu Wei nodded.

"Aunt Chen, why did you fry bitter gourd early in the morning?" Yue Fei noticed the unusual dazzling green on the table.

Aunt Chen wiped her hands with her apron and walked out of the kitchen: "Bitter gourd, doesn't Mr. Yue like to eat it? I made it specially for you, bitter gourd is good to cool down the body temperature."

Yue Fei titled his head, he likes to eat bitter gourd, why doesn't he know it?

Gu Wei glanced at him and was pleased by the doubt on the boy's face. The corners of his mouth curled up. After finishing the rice in his bowl, he put down his chopsticks: "I'm done, I'll go to the company first. Take your time eating."

Yue Fei was very consciously ready to get up to send the other man off when he heard those words, but Gu Wei stopped him by pressing his hand.

So he could only nod his head and replied: "Okay, then have a good day at work, drive safely."
