A familiar aura

Your eyes lit up at the mention of your old school

"Really?!" You beamed

"Yep." Nekomata nodded

Your excitement dropped a moment later, as you remembered calling Suga when you first saw the string between you and kuroo, and the conversation that followed not long after... you had figured nobody at karasuno would know kuroo, so you told daichi, suga, and asahi, everything.

'I have to make sure they won't say anything...'

Kuroo noticed your expression drop and leaned over to whisper to you

"You alright chibi Chan?"

"No.. uh... little problem... meet me in the storage closet in a couple of minutes..."

You waited for nekomata to finish talking and walked into the storage closet, waiting a few minutes for him to meet you. You heard the door opened and turned to see kuroo.

"What happened?"

"Ok so.. uh... We have a problem..."

"And that problem is?"

"Well... we're having a training camp with karasuno, all my friends from karasuno happen to be on the volleyball team... and uh... the third years kinda know about... us"

"Wait, what? I thought you didn't want anyone to know, since we aren't actually soulmates."

"Yeah but... I-I figured that since they live pretty far away we wouldn't have to worry about them knowing... and I needed to talk to somebody about it!"

'I feel like I betrayed his trust by telling them...'

Kuroo noticed that your hands were shaking, he lightly grasped your hand and looked you in the eyes.

"Hey, calm down, just breathe ok? It's fine. They're your friends right? If you already explained everything I don't think they'd tell anybody, right?"

"Y-you're right..."

"You're still shaking..."

"Y-yeah, I um... I'm sorry, I-I shouldn't have told them in the first place..."

You felt kuroo pull you into a hug, your heart was racing.

"You don't have to apologize chibi Chan. You didn't do anything wrong..."

a feeling of comfort washed over you, as you hugged him back, a comfort you had never felt before, he was warm, even after a long practice he had a soft floral scent. The same odd feeling arose in your chest, this time slightly different, slightly less annoyed.

"Thanks catboy...."

You walked home with kuroo and kenma, as usual, avoiding kuroo's gaze the entire time.

'why does he have to go back and fourth between being nice and being a jerk... I don't understand him in the slightest... he's so confusing!'

Without realizing it, your face had been plastered with an annoyed look, A look that worried kuroo.

"Y/n you okay?" Kuroo asked
