"Get cozy, because this will soon be your grave." I flipped him off and he glared at me.
A huge boulder was placed infront of the entrance and I was surrounded in darkness. The only light came from the small gaps between the boulder and entrance.
The place was cold, freezing to the touch. It made me shiver a bit. I got to work with cutting the vines away with the ring. After a few minutes, the vine snapped.
I removed whatever restraints remained on me and tried to adjust to the darkness. There was nothing inside the cave. Nothing that I could see on the ground. I do faintly remember seeing a large branch inside. I used my hands to feel my surroundings. The snow cold and soft.
I felt the branch and analyzed it with my sense of touch. It was a big branch seemed to be a foot shorter than me. It was firm but I wasn't sure if it could withstand my weight.
Nonetheless I gave it a shot. I planted it vertically in the snow and used my upper strength to pull myself up. The wood was rough and uneven. Splinters will be inevitable. Thankfully it could hold me. Now on standing, I was placed into familiar territory.
There was one thing I was good at and that was balance. Except when someone pushes me. . .then I got none. But with no external forces here, I will be fine. I looked around me, my eyes had a adjusted by now and I could make out certain shapes.
There was one that interested me. And those are the spikes that hung from the rocky ceiling. Icicles. If I can knock them down. I might be able to use one to pry the entrance open. Just enough for me to slip through.
I guess the concern here is that I might get impaled by said icicle. Though that is the least of my concern.
I found one nearby the wall. Once I limped over there I used the rocky crevice within the wall to hold myself up. I used the stick to knock down the icicle.
It wasn't easy and I thought the stick might break. After my 7th swing the icicle broke off from the top. It nearly landed on my foot and squealed a bit, but other than that I was fine.
I used the stick and the icicle as crutches to get to the entrance. One crutch was rough and cut into my skin. While the other was so cold it made my hand ache. Yay, splinters and frostbite. What a great day~
Once I made it to the boulder I placed the stick under my right arm, it hurt a lot but I sucked it up. I held the icicle with both of my hands and wedged it in between the boulder and entrance. Thank goodness physics is bonkers down here or the ice might have shattered by now.
I started to pull the icicle to pry the boulder apart. I was using all the strength I had to do so and it still wasn't easy. I was making progress though.
I had to take a break every minute because the ice was so cold. My fingers ached so badly. The light had already filled half of the cave but the space still wasn't big enough for me to slide through. I was starting to get exhausted.
I pulled and pulled and pulled. Until finally I could no longer feel my fingers and I squeezed through the gap. I was out. Out of that dark, cold, and claustrophobic space. I could tell that it was night by now. Everyone must be asleep. But I can't relax yet. I still needed to get away from here. As far away as I could. Back to safe arms.
There was a bruise under my arm now. I could tell by how much it ached there. I used my breath to bring some life back to my frozen, slightly blue hands.
