". . ."
"Promise me."
". . . I promise." He said so quietly it was barely audible. I smile gratefully. Everything blurred into one and it went black.
GAME OVER
3rd POV
It was deathly quite. The others soon notice the skeleton holding a now dead human.
But Flowey was paying attention to Sans' hand. "Sans. . . You crossed you fingers." He stared in disbelief.
Frisk looked at the Sans hand that was behind his back. His two intertwined fingers separated and clenched into a fist.
"Frisk."
"Yeah?"
"Reload."
"Wait before you do that!" Flowey yells out. "Why did you do that!? Why didn't you promise to her!!"
"Because I won't promise to something that won't exist. Reload."
Frisk reloads her last save file. She had a feeling this would be the last time. The moment she is back, Sans disappears.
Reload: Attempt sixteen
He appears in the last corridor. He walks forward and snaps his fingers. Ophiuchus is surrounded and held down by a cluster of bones. Ophiuchus hisses in rage but he can't escape. A bone wedges between his mouth locking his jaw open. Venom drips too break the bone quicker. But by the time he succeeds, Sans is already gone.
Back to Y/n's POV
I close my eyes in pain. The fever kept getting worse and worse as well. I'm not sure why but I have a strong sense of deja vu. A hand slides under my upper back and pulls me into a sitting position. A plate rests between my lips and a warm gentle liquid flows into my mouth. That must be the antidote they have been stressing to make. I drink every last drop. Immediately, I feel the fever disappear. I could hear the others again.
"DID IT WORK? PLEASE TELL ME IT WORKED."
"S-she seems a lot more relaxed so I think it did."
"Oh thank goodness! I was having a heart attack over here!"
I open my eyes and look around. Somehow they did it. I'm alive. I looked around and my eyes landed on a very relieved looking Sans. He engulfed me in a tight hug. "I did it. I did it." He kept repeating over and over again.I wasn't sure by what he meant, but I rubbed his back to help calm him. He relaxed and looked at me. My throat still hurt so I didn't try to speak yet. All of my body still hurts. I guess the antidote doesn't work as fast as I thought. He pulled me into a loving kiss. I happily kissed back. Then someone cleared the throat.
Oh yeah. . . The others are here too. I stop and look away embarrassed. Sans didn't seem to care.
"Um how are you feeling punk!" Undyne awkwardly starts a conversation.
My voice felt very hoarse but I tried to speak. "U-um better?" I said. Although its sounded more like a question. "Y/N I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE OKAY. BUT OF COURSE I THE GREAT PAPYRUS KNEW YOU WOULD PULL THROUGH!" Papyrus is so happy that he pulls me into a tight hug too. One that took a few people to pull me out of.
I try to sit up but I'm immediately stopped by protests. I'm pushed back down, nearly everyone said that I needed to rest. I argue that it felt weird laying down. So we compromised with a raised pillow. Oh boy, the antidote better work quickly because this is not fun at all.
I look around the group and notice an odd one out. "Asgore?"
"Oh hello y/n." He waves awkwardly. This caused confusion in the room. I see two people more confused than the rest.
"You know him!?"
"You know her!?"
Both Toriel and Sans blurt out.
"Oh yes! We are tea drinking buddies." Asgore elaborates. I nod to confirm it. Sans and Toriel stood frozen in shock.
I started to feel a little hungry. And thirsty. And cold too. I was about to ask them for something to eat when someone busts down the door. Sans is pulled of the couch and Mettaton takes his place. He now gives me a hug. I am being smothered with hugs today.
"Darling you had me so worried! I just got the phone call from Papyrus. For some reason no one else wanted to tell me!" He yells the last part out. He is pulled off of me and that spot was back to Sans.
"Maybe because everyone thought you would be useless." Sans bitterly comments.
"Do you guys have a blanket I could use? And some food and some water . . ." My voice gets quieter and quetier as the list of needs lengthen.
"Punk have you not eaten anything for the last three days!?"
I shake my head and every body glared at a certain Flowey who was sitting on Frisk shoulder. "Oops?" He laughs it off.
"DO NOT WORRY Y/N! I'LL MAKE YOU THE BEST MEAL OF YOUR LIFE!" Papyrus runs to the kitchen accompanied with Undyne. Frisk whispered something to Toriel and she followed them. "I'll go keep and eye on them."
I feel something nudge my shoulder. It was a cup of water. Sans was the one holding it. I thank him and drink the whole glass. Frisk threw a few blankets at me. "Is that all your majesty?" She said sarcastically and bows.
I play on. "Yes that will do."
"Good. Can you explain how you know Asgore? I'm a little curious." Frisk asked. Curious? More like nosy.
"Y/n knows the king!? How could you keep something like that from me!" Mettaton joins in.
"I don't know. It never came into a conversation." I shrug.
"He didn't try to kill you did he?" Sans asked and Asgore tensed.
"No." I lie for the sake of Asgore's life.
"Y/N! YOUR DISH IS READY!" he places a bowl of spaghetti on my lap. It didn't look edible. Where did all of his progress go? Then I notice the eager Undyne standing next to him. Oh.
