"You sound like an old married couple" Gally remarked and Leo silently chuckled, but you weren't angry, he was somehow right,..right? "What are your guys' plans for today?" Hank asked and you mentally thanked him for not making this situation more uncomfortable than it already was. Gally told the group about a fence that needs to be repaired, Leo needs to work in the gardens and Hank has a day off once again. "What about you, Newt? Y/n?" Hank turned to you. "Oh, I'm just gonna have my second day as a Med-jack, so nothing out of the ordinary'' you smiled with your eyes closed. "I'm gonna keep Y/n company" Newt decided. "You will?" you turned to Newt, your eyes widening a little bit, "Yeah, as the second in command I need to see if you're able to do your job", "Yeah, sure" Hank started laughing, soon followed by the others. But your laugh wasn't as genuine as the laugh of the others, you were way too busy with figuring out if Newt told the truth or if he really just wanted to keep your company.

After everyone finished their breakfast, you brought the plates back to Frypan. You offered Frypan to help him with the dishes but he insisted that you get going and doing your job as a Med-jack. So Newt and you left the cafeteria and made your way towards the Med-jack hut.

"I didn't know that you need to check if I'm able to do my job... I thought it was the task of the Keepers, not the second in command" you thought out loud while walking towards the hut. "You're right, it isn't my task to do so... I just wanted to spend some time with you, that's all" Newt said with a lively undertone in his voice and smiled. You did so too and of course you couldn't help but start blushing - what a bad habit of yours! You turned your gaze away from Newt in order to hide your red cheeks.

"It's cute when you're blushing"

"Hmm?" you hummed as you turned your face towards Newt. You were sure you had heard his voice but weren't sure if he really said what you might have heard. "Nothing, love" Newt quickly said and now it seemed like it was his turn to blush, but before you could think about it even further Newt continued"I mean, we're at the hut". As soon as he had said that you turned and realized that you were indeed already standing in front of the Med-jack hut. You hadn't even realized you walked for so long.

"Oh, I didn't notice we walked for so long" you chuckled nervously and the two entered the Med-jack hut. "Hey Y/n!" Jeff greeted with a smile, which faded as soon as he saw Newt "Newt? Is everything okay? Did you get hurt?" Jeff rushed to the cabinet which holds the herbs and medication to help Newt as soon as possible, but the blond boy explained his presence before Jeff could panic any further "No, I'm okay Jeff, thank you! I'm just here to keep Y/n a little company, is that okay?". Jeff smiled and wanted to speak, but someone interrupted

"As long, as you don't distract Y/n here, it shouldn't be a problem" Clint made his way towards the three of you from the back of the hut. "Hey Clint" you greeted him with a smile and a small wave, he only nodded and smiled as a greeting. He seemed so mature and always composed, sometimes even a little distant - but still nice! "I promise I'll not disturb neither you two nor Y/n" Newt reassured the two Med-jacks, well primarily the Keeper of the Med-jacks, who now nodded "Okay, fine but I need to rely on that", "Sure, I promise you can count on me" you reassured Clint, who gave you a little smile and went back into the back part of the hut. "I'm going to get fresh herbs, Y/n can you please organize our cabinet?" Jeff asked you while he walked towards the entrance. "Of course" you answered with a smile and walked towards the cabinet. After Jeff had left Newt sat down on one of the two beds in the hut and watched your back as you were organizing the herbs. As you were just putting the bitter oranges into place Newt raised his voice

"Oranges? Are you guys worried we don't get enough vitamin C?" he chuckled and you turned around, eyeing the bitter orange while doing so "Well, it's not really a normal orange, these are called bitter oranges. They may even be dangerous when taken in larger amounts, but they help with fainting, heart attacks and strokes" you explained to Newt, "but we have many other herbs over here..." you continued and turned around to grab some yellow flowers "...these are goldenrod. They help with wound healing, I used it to help Gally as he cut his arm yesterday"
