No one really knew what was happening until it was happening. It started as superstition, as all things did. Whispers reamed through neighborhoods and online forums were populated with conspiracy theories. Those people were ignored—the ones that ran through the streets shaking theirs fists with calls to evacuate while you can, and the end is near! The warnings fell on deaf ears, because if enough people ignored them, the fear dissipated. There was nothing to be scared of if the people striking worries in people were silenced, arrested, thrown in jail for protests with news channels and politicians accusing them of fear mongering.
