Dib shook his head, "No, I'm fine.. just this, burning feeling.." his hand went to grip his stomach, as he was getting an ache there now. Then, he could feel a slight piercing in his chest, along with an even realer burning sensation around that area.
No. It was the heat.
"...lemme walk around for a second," Dib quickly—and wobbly—stood up, starting to pace around towards the memorials. He felt like going there. Why?
Suddenly, a couple feet out from Gaz, he stopped dead in his tracks.
The burning started to spread. His head was getting light. Pain ran through his body, and it wasn't getting away.
No.No.
No no.
"Dib?" Carrie looked up from her seat, previously focusing on pressing her fingers together. "Is.. he alright?" She asked Gaz.
Dib started to shake, his legs nearly giving out. A surge of panic flew through his body, attacking every nerve and muscle. No. No no. Please. It can't be.
This was real.
"No. Please," Dib whispered to himself. "Not here. Not now. Not in front of her. Anything, but in front of her."
Dib tried his best to stay where he was. He was fighting, battling to keep himself conscious. He had to.
Gaz stood up, "..Dib?"
Dib, in a new spike of pain, fell forward onto his palms with a loud yell. People around him started to look in his direction, probably thinking he was just on some sort of drugs. Dib scratched at the ground, his metal arm making indents into the surface.
"NO!" He yelled. "PLEASE!"
"Dib?!" Carrie shot up, rushing towards him.
"GET AWAY FROM ME!" He hissed out at her, scratching his arm back. "NOW!"
Carrie fell back and Gaz grabbed Carrie's arm, pulling her close. Her eyes were opened, "Holy shit."
Dib's neat hair had started to become shaggy change shapes. His clear skin had started to scratch up drastically. His glasses shattered. His eyes turned grim.
People around him gasped in confusion and disbelief, backing up from the transforming boy.
Carrie's eyes widened, and she watched her boyfriend change before them.
And just like that, it all clicked for her."...Jekyll and Hyde."
"DIB!" Gaz called out.
"There IS no Dib," Pilot laughed out, standing up finally. He turned to Carrie, scoffing at her. "So. You're the one he's always going on about?" Then, he suddenly smiled sweetly. "Lovely! You'll do nicely," he zoomed forward, pushing Gaz away with one arm and grabbing Carrie's with the metal. Carrie cried out in alarm, and everyone's attention was now suddenly turned to the small group.
Pilot pulled her through the crowd, getting to ZiM's memorial. He grabbed the gun placed on a stand, wrapping an arm around Carrie's upper body. He looked at the gun with interest, "Ah, I finally get to hold you. It's about time," he looked at Carrie. "You too." He then placed the opening on the side of Carrie's head.
"Dib!" She squeaked out. "No! This isn't you! This is some Hyde you; some evil you! You're still in there!" Her heart was pounding, and her oxygen was lessening.
"Like HELL he is! I AM Dib! There's nothing he wanted MORE, than to BLAST THIS PLACE TO PIECES!" He booms, looking around at everyone with deathly intent. "He thought he could just stop my plans! He went all fancy and cut off his arm, but he doesn't get it!" He laughed. "There's no destroying the evil in human nature!"
