You Decide - Steve Saga(4) *Discontinued*

"We have fallen. He who lost his mind remains...BEWARE." Sabre felt a shiver go up his spine then continued, "Using our power, we have sealed him in, he became insane..."

"I-It sounds like a w-warning" Rainbow shuffled backwards away from the signs with Sabre taking a few steps back as well.

"Yeah, but for what? It's so vague" Sabre frowned, "it doesn't even says who 'we' are" 

"W-We should take this opportunity to check what it is!" Rainbow said, curiosity taking him over just like the human.

"Okay, okay" Sabre took out a wood pickaxe, "Just stay behind me, alright"

Rainbow nodded then Sabre mined two mossy cobblestone blocks so they could enter. Walking in with caution, they immediately seen a Steve trapped in some sort of machine. At a closer distance, it was a yellow Steve whose color was fading away probably due to the years of being locked up. The roles now reversed: no longer did Rainbow want to venture further and want to go back while Sabre wanted to go to the trapped Steve and free him. After a short discussion, Sabre winning of course, Rainbow went to get Sabre a stone pickaxe that the human then used to mine the connecting iron bars that trapped the fading Steve.

It took a few seconds, but lighting struck the now free Steve, scaring the duo into hiding. After the lightning, a new voice was heard:

The Lost Yellow King POV (easier)

"What...happened here? Why does everything...look so old?" I asked out loud as I looked my surroundings, "Why is there lava here?"

I look back to where I walked from to see some sort of contraption, "and more importantly...what is this?"

"Hey" 

I turned to see someone who looked nothing like a Steve. 

"Hey, um, Yellow King"

"Who are you?!" I shouted, probably not the nicest thing to do, but he was a stranger in my castle though he may know what had occurred here.

The stranger, Sabre as he said, explained he had no clue what occurred, unfortunately. He could only guess that a battle took place and those who lived here lost the fight. The brunet seemed nice, the energy surrounding him felt familiar, similar to someone I knew from the past. The way he spoke was familiar too. We continued our conversation, figuring what has happened to my kingdom and, surprisingly, the brunet does not have the same reaction as others when I say I'm a king. 

"Yellow King? I have someone who would like to meet you" 

Sabre said, breaking my thoughts. I look to him then seen someone next to him, someone colorful and-

"It's you" I glared. 

Rainbow Steve, the Steve who is responsible for the destruction of my kingdom.

"It's your fault that my kingdom collapsed!" I growled as memories of my past surface.

"What?" 

"Who's he talking about?" 

Sabre, now I know who he reminds me of: Blue. Blue was the Steve Rainbow came with. He was a kind one and suffered a horrible fate being at the monster's side. I couldn't let another innocent soul suffer the same thing.

"Hang on Yellow King, neither of us have ever been here before" Sabre tried to explain with Rainbow agreeing but I knew it was just lies.

"Lies!" I shouted, the two stepped back, "All lies!"

I pointed at Rainbow, "You, I won't let you leave without paying for what you have done!"

"I haven't done anything! I don't know what happened to your kingdom! We just want to help you!" 

"You should know! You're the cause for all of it!" I shouted, "And help? No, you will not help me! You will destroy me!"

"Hey, hey, King Yellow, please calm down, there might be a misunderstanding" Sabre put a hand on my shoulder, I felt my rage subside just a bit, he had the same touch as Blue.

Wordless, I pushed Sabre behind me, I felt the confused stare behind that bandanna of his but did not explain myself to him, I won't let him share Blue's fate.  

"I failed to protect my people years ago, failed to be the king everyone looked to, but I won't fail again!" I declared then fired a fireball while shouting, "You will never hurt him again!

"What is your problem?!" Rainbow shouted in fear, just dodging my attack.

I was about to launch another one when.

"No!" 

Back to third POV

Sabre jumped in front of the Yellow King just as he fire his attack, unable to change its course but by a few centimeters. The king's eyes widened and Rainbow shouted for his friend when the edge of the flames brushed the side of Sabre's head, burning the tips of his hair and bandanna resulting it to fall off. 

"I-It can't be" The Yellow King shakenly said.

Sabre, not caring that he was almost hit by a fireball, "Yellow King, let's talk about this please. Rainbow doesn't remember anything of his past but he isn't one to cause destruction. It must have been another Steve, I met one that look likes Rainbow and there are some who can turn themselves into other Steve"

The Yellow Steve wasn't focus on the human's words, no, his attention was on Sabre's eyes: light grey, just like Blue's. Something clicked in the king's mind.

'Sabre is Blue, Sabre is Blue's second chance, my second chance to protect an innocent soul from Rainbow."' The Yellow King thought then look at Sabre who was now with Rainbow, 'I won't fail, not again'

"Are you okay?" Sabre asked, looking for any injuries on Rainbow.

Rainbow pushed Sabre away and held his shoulders, "I'm fine! It's you who I'm more concern about! You almost got hit by a fireball! It burnt some of your hair and burnt your bandanna off!"

"I'm okay Ra-hey!" Sabre was pulled away from Rainbow and thrown over a faded Steve's shoulder.

"Sabre!" Rainbow shouted as he got up but the Yellow King jumped back near the machine he was freed from, "What the heck man!? Let Sabre go!"

The king glared at Rainbow, "You are the cause of destruction, cause of death. You are the reason he lost his life all those years ago, now he has a second chance and I'm not going to let you ruin it!"

After saying those words, the Yellow King disappeared, leaving Rainbow searching and calling out for Sabre.

Sabre groan from teleporting randomly, he could only register the soft sheets under him and someone flattening his hair. 

"Don't worry, I'll keep you safe." A voice spoke softly, "I won't let that monstorous Steve hurt you ever again. I'll protect you Blue"
