Somebody to Love

I had a part where Beth called Tom honey and I erased it because I felt like it was Anna's thing and only Anna's thing... only with baby and Tommy. I don't know how tf I'm gonna write terms of endearment for this book.

Two Weeks Later

Arielle lays in her father's arms on the couch. Bella sits next to them and rests her head on Tom's leg.

Tom looks down and sees Bella sleeping. He softly smiles and rubs the top of her head.

"Oh, I know this one!" Arielle says. "What is The Little Mermaid?"

"And the Disney movie that was created from the Hans Christian Anderson's tale is The Little Mermaid."

"Yay!"

"Good job, my dear." Tom smiles. "Very good."

"Thanks, Daddy."

"You're welcome."

Then, Tom's phone starts to ring. The picture Bethany sent him after their Saturday date pops up.

"Who's calling you?" Arielle asks and tries to look at her father's phone.

"I will be right back."

Tom gently sets Arielle down and carefully moves Bella's head so that she doesn't wake up. He walks by the front door and answers. "Hello?"

"Hey," Beth starts. It's clear that she's on speaker phone. "So I'm like 3 minutes from your house and you left your sweater in my car last night."

"Did I?"

"Yeah. I was gonna drop it off real quick but I wanted to make sure the girls weren't like playing outside or something."

"Sure, sure, um, I'll be outside. Stop by. Arielle is watching trivia shows and Bella is asleep."

"Okay, I'm on my way. Bye."

"Goodbye, darling."

Tom walks outside and sits on the porch. A black car pulls up and parks in front of the house. "Look at me!" Bethany yells. "I'm parking!"

Tom laughs and walks toward her. "You are. Very good, I'm impressed."

Bethany tosses the cardigan at Tom and he catches it with one hand. "Nice reflexes."

"When did I even off my cardigan?"

"I turned the heat on." Beth says. "Litterally, the car was freezing."

"Ahh, I see."

"So, what are you guys doing tonight?"

"Um, not sure exactly. Whatever the girls want, I don't care. It's a weekend so they can stay up until 9. 9:30 if I'm not tired." Tom chuckles.

"Fun! I found this recipe for princess cake pops on Pinterest and thought of your girls. I can send it to you if you want to make it with them. Or, I'll make them and secretly drop them off if you don't want to. I feel like we're teenagers sneaking around. I am with an older man." Bethany teases. 

"Only by two years."

"Well... you know..."

They both smile at each other. "Alright I'll get going. Have fun with your girls."

"Thank you. Enjoy your errands."

Tom and Bethany start to kiss on the porch. Tom was usually against PDA but no one except for them was outside and their house was kind of secluded. Then, there's a creaking noise. Tom turns around and sees Arielle standing at the door. "Daddy?" she innocently says.
