Escaping

We slowly walked to Thomas's side.

"You're full of surprises aren't you?" Gally asked sarcastically
"You don't have to come with us, but we are leaving." Thomas said to my brother.
"Anyone else want, nows your last chance." Thomas said to the crowd of boys.
"Don't listen to him, he's just trying to scare you" my brother held his hands out
"No I'm not trying to scare you, you're already scared. Im scared. But I'd rather risk my life out there, than spend the rest of it in here" he said pointedly to my brother.

"We don't belong here. Alright, this place. It isn't our home. We were put here, a-alright we are trapped here. At least out there we have a choice, and we can make it out of here. I know that" He said the fear in his voice

Silence

Then Winston stepped toward us.
"Sorry" I heard Jeff whisper to my brother as he passed him

Some other boys came over as well.
None that I knew personally
But I'd protect them

"Gally it's over. Just come with us" he said

Me and Gally shared a look, my eyes begging him to come.

"Good luck against the grievers" my brother said
Thomas nodded and everyone ran into the maze.

I just stood there, staring at my brother.
I ran at him, tackling him into a huge hug. Possibly our last
"I'm sorry Gally, I'm sorry. Please come. Please" I begged
"I can't" he whispered
I just hugged tighter before I let go backing up into the maze
"I love you bro" I said before I ran after everyone.

"You okay?" Newt asked taking my hand.
"Yeah" I whispered
We just ran, I was nearer the back, Minho up front with Thomas.

I was helping the slower ones.
And my hand never left Newts. I was continuously sending magic through him to his ankle, helping him run.
"You can stop now I'm not sore" he said and I did, I let the magic go.

We came up to the grievers tunnel.
Thomas poked his head around the corner and he came back with a hiss
"Is there a griever?" Chuck asked
"Yep" the runner replied
I heard someone mutter 'shit'

Minho handed Chuck the key.
"You take this Chuck, stay behind us" Minho said
"It's okay you stick with me" Teresa said tying up her hair.
I copied her and tied up my own hair.

"Once we're through, it'll activate. And the door will open." Thomas said to the group
"We stay close, we stick together. We get through this, we get out now or we did trying" he said confidently, but I could see his fear

Newt and I pulled our machetes from our straps, and I patted Lilos head.
"Lils go with Chuck" I told the golden dog and she walked to the younger boy, who held her fur tightly.

I quickly grabbed Newts white jumper and slammed my lips on his.
"I love you." I said smiling at him.
"I love you too" he said back

Thomas banged his spear on the ground
"LETS GO!" He shouted and we all ran around the corner screaming.
The griever saw and ran at us.

The boys ran at it, their battle cry aloud over the noise.

I was going to join them when another griever came up behind us.
"Shuck!" I shouted running to it.
