There's always that one sibling... just kidding, I have 3 fantastic siblings that I love dearly. There's just always a bad one because it adds for a better story.
Also, no, I do not think she's anything like this irl.
Arielle opens her eyes and looks around the room. Bella isn't in theu bedroom so she runs to her father's room and it's empty.
As she walks down the stairs, she smells something being baked. The house is filled with a vanilla sweet scent. She skips down the large stair case and sees Tom making confetti pancakes. "Good morning, Daddy." Arielle smiles.
"Good morning, darling." Tom smiles back. "Happy birthday, my dear."
"Happy birthday." Bethany and Bella say in unison.
"Thanks. Can I have sprinkles?"
"Of course. I'm putting them in the pancakes as well."
"Okay! When is Grandma coming?"
"Around 12. There's another surprise for you in terms of people."
"Who is it? Who is it?"
"You'll see."
Arielle walks over to Bethany and sits on her leg. "Good morning."
"Hey, sweetie." Bethany smiles and plays with her hair. "How did you sleep?"
"Pretty good."
"Yeah? Good."
Arielle closes her eyes and snuggles against her chest. "Mummy?"
Tom whips around and him and Bethany lock eyes. "Um... yeah, sweetie?"
"I'm cold." she whispers.
Bethany rubs her hands together and breathes on them to make them warm. She then starts to warm Arielle's arms by running her hands up and down them. "Is that better?"
"Mhm."
"Good."
"Bethany, darling, can I talk to you?" Tom asks.
"Sure. Arielle, sweetie, why don't you go sit with Bella for a quick second."
"Okay, Mummy." Arielle says and jumps off of her lap. She runs over to Bella and they hug.
Bethany looks at the girls and smiles. "Darling," Beth pulls herself for the trance and walks over to Tom.
"Mhm?"
"Um, Beth, I... I'm sorry if you don't want her to call you that. I'm going to talk to her tommorow and tell her to just call you Bethany."
Bethany softly smiles. "I uh... I'm not too worried."
"You're okay with it?" Tom asks.
"If you are."
"I just don't want them to get in the habit, just in case. I don't plan on anything happening anytime soon but-"
"You have nothing to worry about." Bethany says."I'm not going anywhere."
"Daddy," Bella yells. "The pancakes are done."
"Oh, hold on."
Tom runs over to the griddle and flips the pancakes. They eat breakfast and the girls get ready for Arielle's party. Tom invited some of her school friends over and their parents.
It was going to be chaotic, he knew that, but he wanted Arielle to have a good birthday. Every year he tried to make each birthday extra special. Thinking more about it, he determined that it was because the other contributor to their birth was absent in their lives.
