After that, you checked on Joel, he seemed to be focused in his work so you didn't want to bother him. Still, you asked the guard guarding the room if he ever stepped out. They said no, which confirmed your theory that his watch was working like the earpiece Senku did.
'But was it intentional or just an accident?' you wondered, thinking you probably won't get an answer anytime soon.
Then you went back to your studio to work on the songs you'll play for next week while the crafting team worked on your built-in record player.

This evening, you play 'Apocalypse' by Cigarettes After Sex, you played live with your new electric guitar. It was already dark outside which worked perfectly with the soft, almost dream-like, aesthetic of the song. Though Brody was in the same room as you, at this point, you tuned out his presence and played as if you were alone. It was clear to hear that you were singing for someone, to you it felt like one of those late night facetime serenades. Bit cringe, but given the circumstances, you allowed yourself to be cringe.
Back with the squad in the South, everyone was having dinner and listening to the song. Senku kept his attention on the radio while he ate, knowing your intension with this song. You missed him. And though he himself was satisfied by hearing your voice and knowing you were okay, he missed seeing your smile and talking to you. He quietly sighed.

Meawhile, Chelsea asked about you to the others, her curiosity growing by the minute. They were happy to oblige.
"She took down Tsukasa?!" she exclaimed.
"Taking down is a strong word..." Kohaku smiled. "But I guess yeah, in a way."
"And she told me it was in the heat of the moment." Gen added.
"I felt the moment yes." Tsukasa nodded. "She yelled at me, I didn't know what to say."
"Aww~ were you flustered Tsukasa-chan?!" he smiled and poked his arm.
"I was more confused than anything, when I saw she was angry, I was at first scared that I did something wrong." he looked down.

Chelsea noticed the looked on his face.
"Do you like (Y/n)?"
He blushed, taken aback by her blunted, and shyly looked away. She gasped.
"You do like her!" she pointed at him.
He turned his head away, burying his face in the fur of his coat.
"He's not the only one." Gen leaned closer and whispered. "(Y/n)-chan actually has a whole harem of admirers, the whole elite of the Kingdom of Science."
"No way~." she cupped her cheeks in her hands, stars in her eyes. "She's my new idol!"
He chuckled.

"And don't worry Tsukasa-chan!" he lightly patted him on the shoulder. "(Y/n)-chan tends to get a bit more aggressive when she's overwhelmed, you know how she is."
"It makes sense," François nodded. "she also seemed overwhelmed when she attacked Stanley."
"SHE DID WHAT?!" everyone, including Senku and Xeno, looked at them with big eyes.
They blinked twice before smiling.
"Right, only Miss Luna and Master Kaseki were there as well." they cleared their throat. "After Stanley took down Mozu and Master Matsukaze, he dismissed her and turned his back to her, to which she responded by kicking him in the back of the knee."
Senku bursted out laughing, holding his stomach and slapping his knee. Xeno was speechless.
"She...She made him kneel?" he asked under his breath.
"Wait wait wait!" Kohaku exclaimed, her along with Tsukasa, Ryusui and Suika looked concerned. "What did he do after that?! Did he do anything?!"
François shook their head.
"He stood back up and ordered to tie her up with us. When he did, she seemed to have instantly regretted her action."
Ryusui laughed while the others sighed of relief.

The next day, Joel didn't show up for breakfast. You thought he must've pulled an all-nighter and fell asleep in his workshop, so you went to check up on him.
"Holy shit!" you exclaimed when you saw his stone statue before running to get Yuzuriha and the others.
You revived him and he shyly explained what he discovered: the heart of the medusa was a diamond and by removing it and putting it back in, it worked again.
"So we just had to turn it off and on again?" you looked at it, frowning. "Does it work now?"
Brody, who was holding the device, whispered and waiting for a second.
"Nope," he sighed. "so that wasn't helpful."
"Just one minute now." Joel stepped in. "In this stone world, is being a quitter suddenly in vogue?"
'Oh~ snap!' you smiled.
"As a pro," he smirked. "I intend to tackle my assigned task until I can't work anymore! No matter how brutal the job!"
"This dude," Yo frowned, folding his arms in annoyance. "acting like hot stuff when he was all fidgety with the ladies two minutes ago."
"Yeah but that's what makes his charm." you casually said.
Joel froze, his face red like a tomato. You chuckled.

"Tell me Luna, how much do you weight?" Chelsea asked with a carefree smile.
The young woman gagged in shock.
"Woah! Chelsea the blunt strikes again!" Gen exclaimed.
She cleared her throat and acted casual.
"I'm 40kg... I think." she mumbled that last part.
"That's our miss Luna!" her two fanboys said. "So slim and trim-Wait, not with those proportions!"
"Yeah come on, I need the real number." Chelsea smiled.
"We gotta balance the bikes by weight." Senku said.
"We didn't put much thoughts into the teams when we left in a hurry..." Ukyo said.
"So for this forced, uphill, off-road climb," Ryusui continued. "our bike trios should be more balanced, or else the heavier teams will have a tougher time climbing."

"Redoing...the bike teams..." Luna mumbled to herself before smiling and fidgeting. "Well, if possible - And yes I realize that weight matters most, but still I have a feeling that... Senku and I being on the same bike would work out great balance-wise."
Chelsea tilted her head, confused for a moment before gasping.
"I get it! You're crushing on Senku!" Luna flinched, she gasped again. "So much drama happening here in the Kingdom of Science! Oh my gosh!" she leaned closer to her. "Are you trying to make a move on Senku while his girlfriend is away? Luna..."
"Wha-no!" she intensely shook her head, waving her hands. "No I would never! I-Is it bad that I just want to be close to the boy I like?!"
"Not really, as long as you don't try anything. It's not like he seems interested in you either way." she shrugged.
"Hey!" she exclaimed. "Don't you think he kept his relationship secret from me for a reason? He knew I'd be valuable for him and his cause!" she smiled and blushed.
"...Doesn't sound like you're an item to me."
"It doesn't?!?!" she exclaimed, crushed.

"I wonder..." Chelsea turned to Gen, her new gossip buddy. "Does (Y/n) know that Luna likes Senku?"
"Oh she does." Senku said, pausing in his work (making a scale out of tires). "It was the first time I ever saw her jealous."
"(Y/n)-chan being jealous?!" Gen suddenly exclaimed. "I must know what that was like! Tell the people Senku-chan!"
Everyone at this point was looking at Senku, curious. He casually shrugged.
"She put up appearances then when we were alone she said-" he stopped himself and scratched his cheek. "Actually, I don't think she'd want me to share that, plus you all saw her do it."
At this moment, a few men were feeling pretty jealous (you know who), some of them even screaming on the inside. Chelsea squealed like a fangirl when they explained the goodbye kiss you and him shared. Gen noticed how the overall atmosphere got more lighthearted.

"Ah~ I see Chelsea-chan." he smiled. "You just put everyone at ease with talks of love and gossip to make it a bit easier for everyone to discuss how much we all weight."
"Nah, I was just prying cuz I felt like it." she smiled. "If anything, this is all thanks to (Y/n), she has some mad main character vibes!"
"She sure does." he sighed, looking up. "She leaves such an impact on people that they still talk about her, even when she's miles and miles way."
Hearing that, Xeno chuckled and touched his cheek.
"I felt the impact."
"That makes two of us." Tsukasa smiled.
"Bonding over the fact that she kicked their ass...?" Chrome frowned as he watched them. "...Why not I guess."
"And if that's the case here..." Senku smirked. "imagine how they treat her up there."

Him and Xeno looked at each-other for a moment.
"It's only been a day." he eventually said, knowing this wasn't much of an argument.
"True, but we're talking about music, its popularity can spread faster than any science." he pointed at one of the bikes with his thumb. "Not everyone can ride a bike, everyone can listen to music." his smirk grew larger. "Like you said, it's only been a day, just wait until we come back, see how the Americans treat her then."

Chelsea watched their staring contest for a moment before slowly leaning on Gen.
"What's up with these two?" she quietly asked.
"(Y/n)-chan has a past with them both." he replied in a similar volume.
"No way~ boy I have a lot to catch up to don't I? Tell me *everything*~."
He giggled.
