Your frantic thoughts were interrupted by a door slamming nearby. The sound of a wooden frame bouncing off the doorway drew your attention, and your eyes blew wide at the sight before you. A shoe was thrown out the door at a redheaded young man as he walked out with a large black trash bag in hand. He threw it down angrily into the metal bin and slammed the lid down.
"Satori! I swear to god if you walk off this lawn you won't be coming back!" a woman shouted from inside the house.
"Sounds like a fucking plan," he muttered to himself. He turned and froze, eyes narrowing to slits when they landed on you.
"What the fuck are you doing here? Who are you?" he asked, taking an aggressive stance. Your mouth opened and closed, looking for the words to explain your predicament.
"Just took a wrong turn." You stared in trepidation as to who this was clicked. The Guess Monster from your science class. Satori was his real name, you assumed.
"Well get lost. This isn't where you want to be." He spat, turning away and walking down the road. You thought about following after him, asking for directions, but thought better of it. You didn't know him, and he didn't know you. This wasn't your neighbourhood, and he was very right about you not wanting to be here. You turned on your heel and walked the opposite direction of the Guess Monster, keys clenched tightly in your fist.

Your manager had been surprisingly understanding. You had been called in for a last minute closing shift, and were on your way there directly from school, so it was expected that you would get a little turned around on a new route. You had never closed the cafe on your own, but you had been... adequately trained on the procedures.
However the cafe was empty and you had nothing to do.
You were alone, so you couldn't walk away to clean something, and everything in the front had already been washed at least twice by you. Homework was the next best thing, you decided. Your text book and stationary were sprawled out on the counter as you scrawled notes in your scribbler. You muttered to yourself as you highlighted an important line in your science book. Someone else would appreciate it later, too. Your eyes flitted over to the clock. Ten minutes until you could lock the door and finish tidying the cafe.
Your head shot up as the cafe door flew open and a tall teenage boy burst in. He locked eyes with you, and though they displayed disgust, he threw himself over the counter, ducking down to keep his head hidden.
"What the fuck are you doing?" you asked him, pulling your foot out from under his, which he had so unceremoniously stepped on. It was Satori, and his lip was cracked and his nose was bleeding.
"Shhh!" he hissed. His expression relaxed at yours as he let out a soft, "Please."
You turned back to your homework, as if there wasn't a bloody and beaten boy panting beside you on the floor.
"I saw him fucking come in here. Where is that freak?" another student from your school burst through the door and slammed his fist on the wall. A hand gripped your sneaker in anticipation, and you fought the urge to look down at him. The offender stalked towards you, and your eyes landed on a bloody hand at his side. You clenched your jaw, straightening your posture.
"Sorry, I'm not sure who you're talking about. But we're closed now," you responded dryly, pointing to the clock on the wall behind you. "Unless you want to purchase something or place an order, I'm going to have to ask you to leave." The professionalism of your voice made you cringe a bit, but you kept a straight face. The boy scoffed and turned on his heel, slamming the door on his way out.
