July 1st
Tom softly groans as he turns over and hugs his pillow. The room is usually pitch black at night but Tom notices, even through his closed eyes, there's a light on.
He opens one eye halfway and sees the frame of light around the bathroom door. He turns his head and Bethany's side is unmade, but there's no Bethany.
The toilet flushes and the sound of running water hurts Tom's half-awake ears.
The light goes out and the door opens. The room is pitch black again, but a silhouette walks past Tom.
"Are you okay, darling?" Tom quietly asks.
"Mhm." Bethany replies while getting back into bed. "I'm fine. I don't think dinner agreed me. You know how bad spicy food fucks up my stomach."
"Well is everything okay? Do you feel better?"
"A little blah, but yeah. I'm hungry though."
"Well what time is it?"
"About 2:30."
"I suppose that's a while until you'll be up to eat."
"It is. I'm too lazy though to get up and make something. Pickles sound good though. Oh, so does mac and cheese."
"Pickles and mac and cheese?" Tom chuckles.
"Well not together," Bethany replies. "But yes."
Tom yawns and turns back over. "I'm so tired."
"Sorry for waking you up. I'll just eat something when I wake up, it's not like I'm gonna die of starvation."
"Well make sure you drink some water, darling. You don't want to get dehydrated or anything."
"I will. I can't though. I have my flavored water up here and I used mouthwash to get the waste out of my mouth so that'll be a disgusting mix."
"What taste?" Tom asks, completely confused.
"... vomit...?" Bethany replies.
"When did you throw up?"
"In the bathroom."
Tom shoots up, now fully awake. "What? I thought your stomach was upset."
"It was... and I threw up."
"You never throw up. Like... ever."
"Well it's not like it's impossible. I do throw up, honey."
"Okay, but aside from spicy food, you have an iron stomach and when you do have a stomach problem, you never throw up."
"Why are you freaking out about this?" Bethany asks.
"Because you stopped taking your birth control, Bethany. This is kinda something we need to discuss."
"Baby, it takes awhile to even have the possibility to get pregnant. There's no way that's possible."
"When did you take stopping it exactly?"
