5 : new student

"[N/n]?!"

Hobin looked a little awkward to be in some kind of third wheel situation, "M-master Seong, I have a question. I asked you to teach me how to do a back kick. But why do you keep making me run backwards?"

Taehun shifted his attention back towards Hobin, "Oh, that? It only seems pointless to you because you don't know that, that's how you train for a back kick"

You two left Hobin to do his training by himself and went to go sit in a corner and talk. You grabbed your water bottle and took a sip, "So are we just gonna watch him do that for hours?"

Taehun looked in thought for a second. Then he unzipped his backpack and pulled out a Nintendo switch, smirking, "Mario Kart?"

You smiled, "I'm gonna win"

He rolled his eyes and took out two separate joy-con controllers and handed you one, then put the game card for Mario Kart in and started the game.

The both of you played for an hour, Taehun winning all of the games but one, which you won only because you distracted him by patting his head mid-round. You two were so engrossed in the game, that you had forgotten that Hobin was still there and when you turned to look at him, he had passed out on the mats, probably due to exhaustion.

You wanted to go help him but Taehun told you to let him rest for a bit, so you continued playing Mario Kart until you got drowsy.

"Hey Taehun", you yawned. He looked up. "I'm tired"

He had a superior grin on his face, "Tired of losing?"

You sat up straight, protesting, "No! I'm sleepy, we've been here forever"

Taehun scooted over so you could have room to lay down, patting the area besides him. You gave him an appreciative glance before laying down and closing your eyes, letting your sleepiness overcome you.

When you woke up, you felt something grazing your head. Taehun was still sitting besides you, playing with your hair, watching Hobin, who was also up, continue his training. Taehun noticed you were awake, "Mornin' [N/n]"

"What time is it?", you replied, rubbing your eyes blearily. 

Taehun looked at his watch, "1:30"

You sat up, staying in your spot, and observed Hobin while Taehun braided tiny portions of your hair. It continued like this for a while until you felt a slight weight on your side. You glanced to your left and saw that Taehun had fallen asleep on your shoulder.

Now thinking about it, you felt bad for him. For the past 2 days, from day to night, he had been teaching you taekwondo. It must've been exhausting. But he still did it anyway. His head felt slightly uncomfortable on your shoulder, so you waited for a while, then slowly moved his head to your lap.

You slowly and quietly pulled out your phone and earbuds and turned on music, while you watched Hobin.

After another 5 minutes, Hobin took a break and sat next to you, having a conversation in hushed whispers.

"Is he asleep?", Hobin mouthed.

"Yes", you nodded.

"Do you think he'll kill me if I run away?"

"That and he'll never teach you again"

Hobin sighed, "It's a lot harder than I thought it would be"

You could understand what he felt, "Taehun makes it look easy, yeah?"

"Agreed"

"I have a question- what is your NewTube channel about?", you asked, while playing with Taehun's hair.

Hobin glanced at you thoughtfully, "Er- well... Exposing and fighting bullies basically"

You opened NewTube on your phone and went to the search bar."That's cool, your channel's called Viral-Hit right?"

"Yeah"

The channel had 500k subs and over a million views on each video, "Wow- this is amazing"

Hobin looked a little flustered, "I don't have all the credit though, Snapper and Eul helped me"

"Oh, the two from before?"

"Them yeah"

You made a small braid in Taehun's locks, "Oh, Snapper's okay right?"

"He didn't get hurt too much don't worry"

You had a feeling that wasn't the truth, but you brushed it off. Hobin went back to train, before leaving a little while later. It was 3:09 now, and Taehun had been sleeping for an hour now, and your leg had started going numb.

But it was a memorable moment, with you playing with his hair and listening to music. If you could pause time, you would stop it here and relish in the moment forever. You sighed, closing your eyes, enjoying the peace while it lasted.
