Planes And A Fear Of Heights.

Start from the beginning

"Well you look like a human now, do you... feel different?" she asked as she stroked her finger over the new layered skin. Connor shook his head, closing his eyes as she caressed down his temple to his cheek.

"I just feel you," he lazily replied, content with the soft strokes of her nail and fingertips. Brooke smiled as he became slumped under her touches, she dropped her head to catch his lips. Connor moved his hands from her waist to her back, pulling her closer to deepen their kiss.

Brooke hummed at the back of her throat as Connor pulled back to nip her lips. "We should finish getting ready," she said with a disappointed voice. Connor dropped his head into her chest with a sad sigh.

"Okay, come on," he said, moving his head and pushing her back to get off the edge of the bath. Brooke bent down to pick the LED up, she placed it into the palm of his hand.

What do you want to do with it?" Connor looked at it, shrugging slightly. It couldn't be put back in, they were designed to stay in, not be taken out. He opens the mirrors cabinet that was above the sink and places it inside.

"It can stay in there for now." Brooke nodded with a smile, they both left the bathroom and finished packing Connor's things, once they were done, they were to go to Brookes and finish her packing before going to say goodbye to Hank.

"What time is our flight again?" Brooke asked as she started to fold Connor's clothes whilst he got them from the wardrobe. Connor looked at the flights again, Markus had given them first-class seats with American Airlines.

"We have to be at the airport before 8 pm and our flight departs at 9:30 pm." Brooke nodded, she loved late-night flying, getting to see the dark skies from the window of the plane. Connor grabbed the last of his shirts and brought them over to the bed, helping Brooke fold them into his suitcase. "You have flown before, correct?"

Brooke looked at him, a half-folded shirt in her hand. She could see the hesitation in his gaze to her, it seemed he had some concerns. "Yes, many times. I've done short flights of forty-five minutes and long flights of thirteen hours. Why do you ask?" Connor looked at his suitcase, seeing the neatly packed case, he swallowed heavily, something he never needed to do, Brooke could see that was a sure sign of nervousness and hesitation.

"I have not flown before and... I have a fear of it," Connor sadly admitted. Brooke placed the shirt into the case and walked around to his side of the bed, moving the jeans from his hand to the bed.

"Are you scared of the actual plane or the heights we fly at?" Connor wasn't sure if he had a fear of planes, he had never seen one in person before. He had seen them in movies, they somewhat fascinated him, the pure size of them and the fact they could easily fly through the sky as a small bird could.

"The heights," he replied with an unsteady breath. Brooke nodded, she understood the fear he had when he had sacrificed one of his previous bodies for the young girl that was held captive by her android, he had pushed himself and the deviant from the skyline flats, he fell to his death.

"I will be there with you, it will be okay, Connor," Brooke said with a reassuring smile. Connor attempted his own smile, but he wasn't very confident. Brooke stroked her hands over both his arms, trying her best to make him understand it would truly be okay. She hoped the flight there may steady his nerves as their flight was nearly thirteen hours long with no layovers.

"Let's get finished packing, we don't want to keep Hank waiting too long," Brooke said as she grabbed the remaining clothes and placed them in the suitcase. Connor nodded, pushing the fears to the side and hoped that packing would distract him.

The trip to Brookes house was quick, she had already packed some stuff the Saturday she was there. She grabbed all her last-minute things and some things for Nala, then they had made their way to Hanks. Connor decided to do the driving to the airport, he knew the travelling would be long and tiring for Brooke. As they pulled up Lieutenant's house, Brooke could hear Nala and Sumo barking at each other.
