Chapter 12- Sleepover?

Start from the beginning

This caused laughter to erupt through the entire house. Dust managed to stop himself first, smiling to the side of him, "Aw come on bro, it was just one. Calm down."

Horror relaxes in his seat, sighing, "Aw man... All of this talk about meat takes me back. I would eat one of Grillby's burgers any day if he hadn't changed the recipe to.. Y'know... include human organs.." The thought suddenly made me sick to my stomach.

'Note to self, do NOT go to Horror's world under any circumstances.'

"Raided my Grillby's a while back, got his stuff in the freezer." Killer states, leaning back on the couch. Horror's eyes go wide, "Wait- YOU HAVE SOME?!" "Duh, I'm not letting them go to waste. You can have one but you have to cook it yourself."

Just like that and Horror was gone, back in the kitchen for the 15th time today. I'm impressed from how much food he's managed to eat. I quietly ask Killer, "He really is starving himself back home, isn't he?" Killer responds, a small nod with a saddened look in his eyes.

All of them have these problems and I can't do anything about it. I feel so helpless. I'm working with Killer to help him, but what about the other two?

I can't just force Horror's universe to stop eating things like that. And ever since I met Dust this morning, one thing is clear. He doesn't trust humans. It's possible that this "Phantom", his brother, doesn't trust or like me either. Not sure why but I have I feeling it's a similar reason with Killer's.

Horror's already opened up to me but Dust is a bit more reserved. I might sound crazy but I want to be friends with them both. For that to happen, I need to work on getting Dust to trust me before they leave tomorrow.

I smile at Killer, "You wanna play another game?" All he had to hear was the word "game" and he's already smiling, "I'm in!"

Facing Dust, I yell, "Hey! Can I play a game with your brother? It's kinda like a puzzle but only for one person." Dust's eye sockets widen a bit. He nervously looks over, "What do ya think, Pap?"

There's a moment of silence before Dust smirks and looks to me, "Ya got his attention. My bro loves puzzles."

'Yes! I knew it!'

I got that clue from the books I saw upstairs earlier. I clap happily, "Great! I need you to be my translator!" Dust arches an eyebrow, chuckling, "Okay then. What's the game?"

Killer whines, "Will I get a turn?" I giggle and give him a pet of the head, "You get to do next round with me, I promise." That helped him calm down a bit. He patiently lays himself across the couch and waits for his turn.

Dust walks closer, sitting on the floor. I take a seat a few feet in front of him, "First, he needs to pick a word. He can tell it to you if he wants, but don't tell me, okay?" Dust nods and looks up, it seems like Phantom is above him now rather than by his shoulder.

After a second, Dust cracks up, "Come on bro! That's too obvious." I interfere, saying, "No, no, it's perfect! I probably won't be able to guess it anyway!" Dust rolls his eyes, smiling, "Alright then. What's next?"

"The game we're playing is called '20 Questions.' I have to guess the word, but only by asking you yes or no questions. If I ask 20 of them without guessing the word correctly, Papyrus wins. If I manage to put all the puzzle pieces together and guess correctly before then, I win."

I cross my legs and get a bit more comfortable. Dust comments, "Sounds easy." "Not for me, I'm pretty sure he could say a number of monster-related things and I'd have no idea what it could be." I say, getting nervous. Dust assures me, "I'm sure this is a human thing too."
