Cassandra walked over to the two of you and placed her hands on your shoulders, "Don't worry guys. If anyone can find your parents, they can." Cassandra pulled the two of you into a hug.

Rapunzel paced back and forth, you could have sworn that she was wearing a hole in the carpet from all the pacing she was doing. Cassandra who was looking out the window let out a gasp as Owl flew up to the window. She opened the window, Owl landed on her arm and she and Rapunzel struggled to close the window, before finally getting it to shut.
"Cass? What is it?" You asked, wringing your hands together.
Cassandra looked over at you and Rapunzel sadly, "The worst of the storm is yet to come." She said.
"Unless we do something, Rapunzel, the whole island will be buried." Nigel looked over at the captain of the guard, "Our only hope is to call a state of emergency, evacuate to the shelters on the mainland, and pray the storm blows over."
You frowned, "We'll never be able to get everyone to safety in time." You were distressed, with no idea that you had could help everyone.
"That can't be the only way," Rapunzel said, agreeing with you, "What about Xavier?" Rapunzel asked.
Nigel looked shocked, "Your Highness! With all due respect, lives are at stake here! We can't go chasing after fairy tales in our darkest hour!"
"Princess Rapunzel! (Y/N)!" You heard Varian's voice from down the hall. Your eyes widened, was he just out in the storm? He could have gotten himself killed! The boy burst through the doors, followed by the guards.
The captain of the guard caught Varian before he could get close to either one of you, "Sorry, Princesses... He ran right past--" Pete the guard was cut off, Rapunzel held out her arms.
"Wait! It's okay!" She said and the captain let go of Varian.
He ran over to you and Rapunzel, "Oh! Rapunzel, (Y/N)! My dad is in danger." The boy's voice was cracking causing your heart to fill with pain, "You, you're the only ones who can help! Please!" He pleaded, "You have to come to Old Corona with me! Now!" Rapunzel immediately froze up. You were unsure of the problem that was happening, but there was only so much the queen could do for anyone at the moment. Rapunzel grabbed Varian, and you, and pulled you two out of the room so you could talk in private.
"Varian, what's wrong?" You asked, hoping for a simple answer like he was bleeding, or something that was easily fixable.
The boy turned to you, pain filled his eyes, "Please. Please, the rocks. They're encasing my dad!" Your eyes widened.
"Encasing?" Rapunzel asked, shocked, "Wh-- what are you saying?" She asked.
The boy grabbed your hand, "Come! Come! See for yourself! You can help!" He said to Rapunzel specifically, "You have a connection to these rocks!"
Rapunzel cut him off, causing you to stop, "Varian, it's a state of emergency here. I'm sorry. I- I- I can't help you!" Rapunzel said, conflicted, "Not right now!"
Varian ran back towards the woman, "No! No, no, no, no. Listen to me! My dad doesn't have much time!" Your emotions were getting the better of you, thinking rationally was out of the question, the only thing you could even think of doing was helping Varian, "You are the only one who can help." He said to Rapunzel, "Rapunzel please!"
"Your Majesty, please." Nigel said, "Whatever the boy's problem, it must be set aside. The storm is growing stronger by the second!"
Varian shook his head and ran towards Rapunzel, "NO!" He grabbed her, turning her away from Nigel, "No! No, no, please!" He shook her back and forth, "Please, Princess, you...Wha-- you promised you'd help me! You promised." Stan and Pete ran out of the room and grabbed Varian, pulling him away from you and Rapunzel, "Rapunzel! (Y/N)! Please!" They started dragging him down the hall while you stood shocked, "Princess! My dad needs help!"
You called after them, "No! Don't hurt him."
"(Y/N)!" Varian cried, "Rapunzel, you promised! You promised!"
You couldn't stay put any longer, you ran after the boy.
"But (Y/N)! It's a death trap out there!" Rapunzel called after you.
You spun around while still walking backward, "I know! And that's why he can't be alone." You turned back around and followed the guards. The guards made it to the exit and thew Varian out. You ran out the door and helped him up.
He turned to you, his eyes full of sadness with a bit of relief, "Oh thank you!" He cried, embracing you with a hug, "Now quickly, we have to get back to my dad as soon as possible." He said, grabbing your hand and pulling you in the direction of Old Corona.

Varian and you ran past large black rocks, that had completely overtaken the village. As you got to his house, Varian ran as quickly as he could up the stairs, pulling you along with him.
"Dad! Dad! I'm back!" He called, opening the door and running into his workshop, "Dad! Dad," The boy started, turning around to close the door, you were shocked at the sight in front of you, but Varian hadn't seen it yet, "Rapunzel refused to help, but (Y/N)..." He stopped when he saw his father, who had been completely encased in amber. His eyes widened as he stared at it, "Dad?" The boy dropped his staff and ran forward, "Oh, no. No, no. No. NO!" The boy hit the amber, "No! Dad! Daddy! NO!" Varian's sobs echoed across the room and you covered your mouth with your hands, "No, no, no, no." He sunk down to the ground, "No." You walked forward and pressed one hand against the amber and the other rested on Varian's head. The boy stood up and wrapped his arms around you, burying his face in the crook of your neck, "Please." He looked at you, "Please use the incantation. Just save my dad." He said.
You nodded, turning to the man encased in amber you pressed your hands against the material, and began the incantation, "Flower, gleam and glow.
Let your power shine.
Make the clock reverse.
Bring back what once was mine.
Heal what has been hurt.
Change the fates' design.
Save what has been lost.
Bring back what once was mine.
What once was mine."
The light was emitted from your hands and surrounded the rocks. The two of you looked at the amber expectantly, hoping that something, anything would happen. The amber remained unchanged.
You tried again. And again. And again. For hours, until there was no more energy left inside of you. You sat down on the ground, trying to catch your breath.
You turned to the boy who was kneeling on the ground in front of the amber, "Don't worry, Dad." The boy clenched his fists, his eyes red from crying, "I will get to the bottom of this." The boy said, "I promise. "His voice was full of sadness, "I will make you proud, get the answers and set you free. Don't you worry whatever it might take, I'm finding a way!" Varian got up off the ground, "And I swear right now, that no matter what comes of me!" He pressed his hands against the amber, "Anybody who stands or has stood in my path, they are going to pay!" Your eyes widened, "They...will...pay."
You stood up and walked over to Varian, you placed your hand on his shoulder, "Varian. I'm so sorry..." You said. Varian turned to you, his eyes were dark and a scowl was on his face. His whole demeanor had changed within minutes.
"Out." He growled.
You shook your head, "But Varia--"
"I said, OUT!" Varian yelled, causing you to jump back in shock.
You nodded before quickly leaving the house. Varian had never yelled at you before. All you tried to do was comfort him. Of course-- everyone grieves in their own way. Maybe you should just give him some alone time. As soon as you stepped outside you noticed that all the snow was gone.
And with a heavy heart, you took one final glance at Varian's house before turning back to the castle.
