I gave him no reaction to the pain and continued staring him down. He held no guilt in his eyes for what happened to Cal. The other council members who were involved do, they all even apologized the second I stepped into the door. That doesn't mean I forgive them, but at least they knew what they did was wrong. Which is why I decided to ignore them and focus all my rage on Windu, because unlike them, he held no responsibility. He believes what he did was right, since all the slaves are now free and Cal was still alive.

"Let go of her or I'll break your hand." Anakin spoke up from next to me. I turned my gaze to my right to see his angered expression, I didn't even hear him get closer.

Windu's narrowed eyes shifted between Anakin and I, before finally letting me go, "From now on," I rubbed my wrist that was slightly red from his grip, "The only orders or assignments that Cal and I will be accepting, have to come from Master Yoda or Master Kenobi directly." I dropped my hand down as I eyed the council with a disappointed glare, "I understand that not all of you were involved and that some of you are even remorseful. But that doesn't change how I feel; I no longer have trust in this council."

I didn't allow anyone else to say anything, and that's because I didn't care what they had to say. I turned on my heels and left the room with Anakin following behind me.

I took a deep breath as soon as I reached the hallways to help calm myself down. I plan to go see if Cal is awake yet, and I didn't want him to feel any negative energy right now, "Yoda is motioning to have Windu removed from the council." My fiancé broke our silence as we walked together side by side towards the medical bay.

I nodded slowly without looking up at him, "I hope he is removed, but that still doesn't feel like it's enough," I sighed while my eyes began to water at the memory of finding Cal, bloody and weak, "He's lucky Cal is alive, or I probably would've killed him."

"I know," Anakin placed his hand on my shoulder for comfort. Usually his touch had a calming affect on me, but lately it hasn't been working like it used to. There are just some things even he can't fix, "And I would have helped you hide the body." He joked to lighten my mood.

I was still upset, but I couldn't help the smile that broke free. I glanced up to meet his eyes that were already focused on me, "I don't know how you do, but you still manage to make me smile in the worst situations."

He shrugged with a smile of his own as he dropped his hand down as we turned a corner towards Cal's room, "I just do my best to keep you happy Princess."

I glanced down the empty hallways to make sure no one was looking, before grabbing his arm to halt his movements. He furrowed his brows at my actions, "Well you're doing a wonderful job," I got on my toes to quickly kiss him on the lips. I felt him smiling as he cupped my face and kissed me back.

"Another one?" Cal chuckled as a droid walked in and set another gift near his bed side, "I didn't realize I was so popular." He smiled narcissistically. I laughed with an eye roll, it was nice to see him feeling better.

Ahsoka grabbed the present for him and her eyes narrowed when she read who it was from, "It says it's from the Council." She held it out to Cal whose entire happy demeanor fell in less than a second. He took it from her grasp and threw it aggressively towards the wall where we heard a crash from inside of it.

Ahsoka and Anakin eyed him with solemn expression, knowing Cal was still hurt from practically being betrayed by people he thought he could trust.

I on the other hand, felt angry. Not at him or his actions, but angry that they took this kid; a good kid who was always happy, optimistic, and filled with love, and cracked his whole spirit.
