9 : SECRET CRAZE

"Dinner will be up to you. You are going to treat me for this. Done?". He asked.

"Okay". I said and forced a smile.

After my shift, I and Luca had our dinner. He offered me the ride back home but I declined. I was walking back home from an alley I saw Tan. His back was leaning against his bike, he wasn't wearing a helmet but a mask.'What is he doing here?'.
I stopped near him.

" Where is your mobile?". He asked and I immediately started searching in my bag. I found it and tapped the button to see 3 missed calls from Tan. I raised my head slowly. He was glaring at me.

" I-I didn't say it. I really didn't. I was busy that's why I didn't check my phone. I'm s-sorry". I got panicked. I bit my lower lip nervously. His expression was still cold and blank.

" I'll not tolerate this next time. Be ready tomorrow at 08:30 in the morning I'll come to pick you up". He said sitting on his bike, he wore his helmet, about to start the bike but I stopped him.

"Why are you doing this to me?". I asked out of the blue. He moved his head in my direction. My heart started beating rapidly.

"What am I doing to you?".
He asked back.

" Don't play dumb. Tell me why are you making me work in your brother's company?". I asked hoping I'll get an answer.

" Don't call him my brother again. And about your job you will come to know about it later. I'll tell you. Now go home. It's not safe for you to stay out alone at this hour". He said with no emotions on his face as always and drove away.

I was standing there still processing what did he just said.
'Why did he hates his brother so much? If he hates his brother then why is he sending me to his company? What did he want? It's really hard to understand him'.

I took two steps and then again stopped. 'Wait, Anna. Did he just say it's not safe for me to stay out at this hour? Does he cares about me ?'.
' No Anna he doesn't. If he would actually care about you then he never has blackmailed you'.

I went to my apartment and took a warm bath then went to bed. Laying and thinking about the whole day, especially about Tan. Why is he so cold? Why does he have so much anger in him? Why he has so much hatred in his heart for his own brother?

Even after all these, I know he is not a heartless person. He does act like he doesn't care about me but my heart says he does.

I don't know what kind of person is he actually. I have never seen him with anyone. I have never seen him smiling. I have never seen him talking to someone openly. I always have seen him alone.

He never shows his emotions. I don't know why but in those beautiful brown eyes all I can see is darkness, which screams nothing but pain.

TAN'S POV

I was sitting in the office of my mention. Aiden came in without knocking, looking angry. "What do you think you are doing Tan?". He yelled, breathing heavily.

"Calm down first Aiden. What are you talking about ?". I asked.

"How am I supposed to calm down Tan?. Why are you bringing her in all these?". He raised his voice.

'so it's about Anna'.

Aiden was a playboy in high school. But he was serious for one and only Anna. When he found out that I have feelings for her too. He took his steps back for me. But still, he is super possessive for her.

" Don't worry Aiden I know what I am doing". I assured him.

"Again you are telling me not to get worried. Even though you know she is too innocent for all this. I don't know what you did to her last time but she cried the whole ride. And now you want her to be your spy. Are you serious Tan?". He said this all in one breath.

"Done?". I asked.

" NO. I'M NOT ".
He shouted angrily.

"Then continue". I said. He shook his head in disappointment. Slamming the door behind he went out with heavy steps.

I'm so unbothered and that's what bothers him. But I know he will come back after an hour as can't stay mad at me for more than that.

One of my agents informed me that Anna got passed in the interview. I called her multiple times but she didn't pick up. I got worried and went to check on her.

As I reach the plaza hotel I saw she was eating dinner with Luca. This Luca guy is getting on my nerves now. But my Anna feels safe around him. She looks happy with him.

When I see her smile, everything around me looks brighter. All my stress and my anger fade away. I want to make her smile too. I want to be a reason behind her smile but I can't. Because my love is like water and her heart is like a paper boat. My love will destroy her. I don't want to hurt her. I can't see a single scratch on her.

I'm not like those psycho mafias who kidnap or force on women. It's not a manly thing. If you really like them then there are many possible ways to win their hearts.

That's what I'm going to do. I'll confess to her after my mission but only If I'll be there. I'm not going to force her in any way. I love her because it's my choice but stay or leave is hers.

I talk to her coldly. I know my words hurt her but that's good for her. I don't want her to get attached to me. I don't want it to become her habit. She will expect me to stay by her side. And maybe someday I'll not be there for her.

The thought of her broken figure terrifies me. That's why I want her to stay away from me. To not grow feeling for me until my mission will be completed.

Once my mission will be completed I'll hold her hand and will take her will be far away from here. Away from all this darkness. Away from this filthy and dark world. Somewhere, where no one knows me. I'll start over again.

I caught myself smiling at this thought. I cleared my throat and blinked fast to avoid blush if there were any.

After finishing her dinner she came out before she can catch me there I went to the alley. As soon as she came towards me I warned her to attend my calls. After our conversation, she thought I'm gone but I was looking at her from the backside. She was still standing in the alley in deep thought.

This girl is something. I told her to go home and here she is. She is such a kid. She can't stay away from problems for more than two seconds.

I always have to protect her. She doesn't even know how many times I have saved her from jerks and perverts.

She might be thinking that she isn't beautiful but actually it's me who didn't let any guy go near her. Except for Luca.

• I wish there was a better word than love. But I really truly love her.
