Prime hissed out, "I've been through war. I've lived a life where I didn't know if every day I woke up I'd have to fight for my life or get to spend it with... with them. I'm telling you this as your friend, as your... as your best friend right now," Prime growled out, "Over... must be destroyed. Kill him. Rip his form every single world he's touched. And if someone tries to stop you, you treat them the same way, you hear me?"
The first feeling in Ophiod's gut was one of denial, of confusion and shock at Prime's words. And for a long moment, he found himself opening his lips to stop him. And then, the image of Skales, laying there on the ground, gasping for air to keep moving hit him. A wave of guilt hit him. A guilt that made Ophiod's body go cold. A gripping icy claw that made his breath falter. Ophiod had hurt Skales because he'd had to use the scroll. He'd had to use its power... because of...because of him.
"I... I see what you mean, Prime..." Ophiod inhaled, "Yes, I believe I do. I know what you are trying to tell me."
"Good... good, good, good," Prime let go of him, "I'm just looking out for you, Ophiod. Skales lived this time, but take it from me... you might not get lucky again. I don't want what happened to me, to happen to you. Got it?"
"Yes, Prime, I understand," Ophiod gripped his fist, "I... I will make sure that I remember that..." Ophiod lowered his head, "Over, must pay for what he has done to Skales."
"Exactly," Prime laughed, "Exactly. You're understanding now. Good...." Prime shook his head, "Have the Twins contacted you yet?"
"No, no they have not," Ophiod frowned, "I assume that they must have shown those interlopers the Iron Demise, then."
"Oh, they did... and that means they won't dare make any move right now," Prime smirked, "It means... it means we're free to rest right now. But soon, they're sure to try something. And when they do, we'll have to be there to stop them. Everything is about to get complicated, Ophiod..." Prime laughed, "In other words... I think we're getting close to the end of all of this."
Ophiod inhaled, "If that is the case, then we must be ready. I'll make sure that when the time comes that I'm ready to defeat them, just like you will be," Ophiod's eyes sparked to life with magic, "I'll make sure I'm ready to make sure they will never defy us again."
Prime smiled gently at him, "You don't have to put on an act for me right now. I know you're worried about Skales. Please... go to him, Ophiod. Don't... don't waste your chance."
Ophiod, hearing that, slowly let the mock anger fade from his shoulders. Instead, he seemed to slump forward, completely limp as he did. The two men shared a small look to one another, a look of mutual understanding, before the Viper slithered his way off, and in turn, hiding the guilt that he still carried in his shoulders and the fear of what he now had in his hands.
Above the waters of Stiix, a portal opened up. The deep gray skies and sea spray meant that those that saw it would quickly forget about it, living out the remainder of their lives in this backwater ocean city. Thus, none would be privy to the emergence of a ghost and a single shard of valuable, glowing golden sword as the two touched down on the docks of the city.
Why are we here? The sword asked Monty as he got his bearings, You weren't particularly clear about it.
"We're going to get some things here," Monty nodded, "And I'm checking in on Ronin. Figured he'd go and try to do something stupid if I didn't get in his way."
Well, I suppose that it will be some time before I am completed again, The sword responded to Monty, Then let us be on our way, before your allies miss you.
