We walked into main command, where only a few guards were waiting.
"Psst! Hey!" Whispered Shiro to one of the guards. The guard turned around and Shiro punched him. Hard. The other two guards turned and we started firing at them before they could warn other Galra. Soon enough, it was just us in the command. Keith and I watched the surrounding area while the others sat down with Pidge.
"How's it look out there?" Asked Shiro.
"All clear." Keith and I said flatly.
Pidge nodded, "We'll have all the information we need in a few minutes. Hunk and I have made some improvements since the last time I tried to download Galra info. We should get a nice, clean translation immediately. Hunk had a great idea about how to do it."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah." Began Hunk, "Do you guys remember when we studied algorithms at the Garrison, and Mr. York told us that joke about the ghost learning symbolic logic and innumerably infinite sets?"
"Boring!" Whined Lance.
"Right, yeah, totally, it was boring. Anyway the joke goes—"
"Hey, guys, sorry to interrupt, but I think we've got company." Said Keith.
A giant ship started to land, casting a shadow upon us.
"Think we should get out of here?" I asked.
Pidge shook her head, "We just need a few more seconds."
"Stay low." Agreed Shiro, "We need this intel."
Then, the computer started to beep.
"Get down!" I yelled.
A Galra soldier popped up on a video transmission.
"He's still looking." Whispered Lance, "I think he's waiting for a signal or something."
"I got it." Said Hunk crawling out with the dead Galra guard. He made a few gestures with the guard's arm and finally the other soldier left the transmission.
"Nice job, Hunk." Praised Lance.
"Okay, download complete." Said Pidge.
I crouched down beside her, "What's it say?"
"Nothing." She answered pushing a few buttons, "This place doesn't have any useful information. Just a schedule of the ships coming in and out."
"Well, I guess this mission was a bust." Sighed Lance.
"Let's get back to the Castle." Said Shiro.
"Hold on." Began Allura, "Pidge, do you know where that ship is headed?"
"Umm." Pidge looked to her computer, "It's scheduled to be here for about a half an hour, then head off to Central Command."
Allura stood up, "That's where they have the information we need, and I'm going to sneak aboard that ship and get it for us."
"How are you gonna get in?" Asked Keith.
She took off her helmet, "I'm going to walk right through the front."
Allura closed her eyes and we watched as her skin turned purple and her legs grew at least eight inches taller.
We stared at her, jaws dropped.
"How the heck did you do that?" Asked Hunk.
She smiled, "The Alteans are chameleon-like people who can blend in with the local populations. It's the ability that's made us great explorers and diplomats throughout our history."
Lance's smile grew into a mischievous grin, "So, can you turn into, like, a balloon?"
Pidge, always wanting to know the facts asked, "How many different colors can you be at once?"
Hunk shook his head, "Aren't you afraid you'll rip your pants?"
"No," Answered Allura frowning, "Just one at a time, and I will need a change of costume." She turned to the guard, "I can use his uniform as a disguise."
Shiro crossed his arms, "I can't let you go in there alone."
"Excuse me?" Scowled Allura, "I do not need your permission."
"It's too dangerous. I'm going in with you."
She scoffed, "You will stick out like a Choferiak's nose."
"You're going to need that nose, Princess." Said Pidge stepping in, "Shiro's hand is made from Galra tech. It's the only thing we have that will allow us to interface with their systems and gather intel. I can monitor the download remotely from here."
Allura took a deep breath, "Fine, you can come."
"I'm coming too." I said.
Shiro turned to me, "What? Nope, uh uh, no way. You're not allowed."
I rolled my eyes, "First of all, Shiro, you don't get to be the boss of me. I love you and you're an amazing brother, but you aren't dad. I was just fine for a year without you. And second of all, you might need me in there and you know it. I'm the fastest person we've got here and I can be extremely useful when I want to be."
He paused, crossed his arms, and gave me a stern look, "Fine. I don't like this though. And you're staying by my side at all times do you understand?"
I felt a small grin find its way onto my face, "Completely."
"Uh," Began Hunk looking out of the window, "You guys better hurry up if you want to get on and off before the ship leaves for Zarkon central."
Keith turned to Allura, "How are you going to get Y/N and Shiro on board?"
