Part 19- Suspicious

I missed my mom's warmth for so long. Then, I switched with bhai and hugged Abbu.

"Welcome back home meri jaan (my life)" he said tapping my back.

After the greetings and hugs, we made our way back home. Abbu decided to drive us all home.

Half an hour later, we arrived home and the familiar scent of home made food and spices hit my nose. I was longing for this smell.

Ammi jaan had prepared immensely of good food that was all placed in the dining room.

She forced my brother and I to at least try each one of the food she made before letting us go into our rooms.

As soon as I got into my room, I fell on my bed. Ah! It feels so nice to be back in this bed!

I wanted to open my luggage and place back my stuff back but I drifted to sleep way before I imagined it.

Knock! Knock!

Ugh, let me sleep man.

I got awake by hearing someone knocking on my door.

"Come in" I said in my tired voice.

"Sorry to bother Adalina, someone sent you this" it was my dad holding a huge bouquet of flowers.

"That's...for me?" who would send me this? Ayla?

I got off my bed and took the bouquet from my dad before he left my room.

Who is this from?!

I was checking the bouquet to see if there was a note or something and finally found one.

Oh my Allah.

I was shook while staring at the note.

No no no!! Where is he? And how does he know I'm back?!

This can't be for real!

My stress level was getting high again. Can't he just pretend I don't exist?

I have to calm down. Okay, it's only flowers. It means nothing. We broke up long ago and that's it. There's no more of us. Maybe he just wanted to say hi. Ok, good.

I took deep breaths and then sat down on my bed playing with my hands. My phone suddenly rang making me lightly flinch.

I checked the ID and thankfully it was only Ayla.

"Hey" I picked up.

"Hey? You mean HELLO GIRL I'M FINALLY BACK!!" she exclaimed.

"Hi Queen! How are you?" I asked once again chuckling.

"Yeah okay, that's better when are we meeting?" she straight up got to the point.

"How about next week?" I asked her.

"NEXT week?!" she asked shook.

"Yeah I have to settle down first and then I'll get to you" I said.

"Another week?! You really didn't miss me and it shows!" she said sounding upset.

"You know that's not true" I said.

"UGH! but I'm bored!! And I have so much to tell you as well" she was wining like a child.

"Next week I promise" I said.

I really can't leave the house today.

"Okay..see ya then!" she said hanging up.

After ending the call, I grabbed the bouquet of flowers and got out of my room to throw it in the garbage.
