Chapter 13: The Birth Of A New Generation

"Ok, Zira. See you later," said Kiara as the older lioness got up and walked away to find her only nephew.

"See you later, mother!" Vitani and Kovu chorused.

"See you later, Zira," said Moto.

Kiara turned to her niece and nephew with a smile. The male reminded her of her late twin brother while the female looked like a mini version of Zira, "What are their names?" Kiara asked.

"Their names are Kopa and Kali," Vitani announced.

Kopa resembles a bit like his father; he has freckles on his muzzle with medium eyeshades. He has light golden fur with a medium brown hair tuft and tail tuft. He has white paws and underbelly and a black sharp nose and brown ear rims with violet-blue eyes.

Kali has a dark golden-brown fur with a small hair tuft like her mother, a dark brown tail tuft, and light green eyes. She has a stripe on her forehead inherited from her grandmother, Zira. She has a pink sharp nose and long furry cheeks. (Just like Zira and the outlanders in the Lion King 2: Simba's Pride). She has light creamy paws, underbelly, and muzzle.

"Their names fit perfectly," Kiara commented, nuzzling both cubs.

"They sure do. And Kopa reminds me of our late brother-in-law and would've been your mate, sis," said Kovu.

"Yup. And that's why we've named our cub after Kopa to dedicate him," Vitani smiled sadly as she received a comforting nuzzle from Moto.

"Awww, they're so cute. Just like my little angel," Said Zuri while walking towards them with Afua behind her.

Zuri laid down and placed her daughter in her paws while Afua lays right next to her, looking down at his new daughter with glee.

"I agree, Vitani. You guys made the perfect cubs," Said Afua.

Moto and Vitani thanked them before looking down at Afua and Zuri's cub, "And who's this little one?" Asked Moto.

"This is Neema," Zuri introduced her daughter with a smile.

Like Vitani, Zuri gave birth to a healthy baby girl last night. Neema has burgundy fur with brown eyes, brown tail tuft, colorless paws, creamy muzzle and underbelly, pink nose, and a stripe on her forehead, which goes down all the way to her back.

"She's beautiful," said Kiara.

"Congratulations, Afua and Zuri," said Kovu.

"Congrats, you guys," Moto and Vitani chorused.

"Thank you all so much. We know that our cubs will be the best of friends when they're older," said Afua.

"Heck, and some of us are related to the royal family. Most of our cubs will be cousins," Vitani remarked.

"That's true. You are Kovu's sister, and since he and Kiara are mates, that makes her your sister-in-law. And therefore, you're automatically a princess," Afua explained.

"And Moto is a prince since you both are married," Zuri pointed out, "Since Afua and I aren't related to you all. Our cub will be friends with your cubs. And who knows, Kopa and Neema might end up falling in love with each other in the future."

The parents looked down and saw Kopa trying to reach for Neema. He mewled at her to get her attention while she was looking at him. Kopa crawled out of his mother's paws and crawled towards Neema. When he got close enough, both of them sniffed each other before smiling at their new beginning friendship.

"Awwwww," all of the adults cooed, witnessing Kopa and Neema interacting with each other. Kali looked up and saw her brother with another cub. She crawled out of her mother's paws and crawled to her brother's side. Neema sees the other cub, and the both of them began sniffing each other, trying to get to know one another.
