Shizue went out of her way to fully have an in-depth analysis of the entity. She knew she'd be no match the moment she saw its stats. High risks come with High rewards as they say.

Suddenly, the entity started to draw its weapon. It had a huge greatsword similar to Shion's. But, the difference in its levels was too apparent.

"Pardon me miss, however, you have stepped a bit too close for my comfort. I hate drowning in huge amounts of magicules as I already am. Either you back off, or die, you choose."

"Alright, I'm sorry for getting this close, I'll leave now."

Shizue didn't immediately turn her back, as she slowly took backward steps. The Phantom Knight's face was covered with its mask. So, Shizue didn't know what kind of expression it had as it looks at her.

Judging that she'd be safe from her distance. She turns her back to report what she saw immediately to Benimaru. Of course, Rimuru too, via telepathy.

But—

"I'm kidding! Do you think I'd let you get away with that information? Hahaha!"

—A spell formation under Shizue's steps suddenly appeared. It exploded, generating huge amounts of black flames.

The flames weren't supposed to deal any damage towards Shizue. However, her opponent was an awakened class monster. Immediate signs of injury appeared on her body.

Had she not expected this and not put up a barrier on time, she would likely be incapacitated.

"Hoo? Pretty amazing aren't you? Withstanding one of my strongest spells like that."

"Hmph, I just have a lot of experience with fire, that's all."

"Let's see about that!"

The Phantom summons out a barrage of black flames. Equal in power to the one Shizue took on before. Or is it?

These flames, how can he let out so much in such a rapid fashion. I don't think even Benimaru-san could go against this guy.

"Argh!"

"Focus, or else these flames will devour you!"

Oh crap, I can't dodge that!

"Not on my watch!"

Benimaru arrived, and, immediately sent out rapid fires of stronger variations of Hell Flare. His attacks were countering the Phantom's.

"Shizue-san! I didn't think this was your idea of surveying. So, what are we up against here?"

"Thanks... for the help. That thing is as you can sense, is past the awakened state. It's got a real nasty skill, though I don't know the details."

Benimaru's eyebrows rose. "How nasty are we talking here?"

"Shion's cooking."

Benimaru instantly got what she meant, as he fully raises his barriers and offensive skills. 

"It seems we're in trouble."

"Yeah. I'm really sorry!"

"Stop your babbling!"

Another barrage of attacks, mixed with magic ones and sword attacks comes towards them.

"Watch out!"

Thankfully, both Shizue and Benimaru avoided his spells. However, Benimaru is now in a swordfight against the phantom.

"Hoho, not bad, you're quite skilled."

Benimaru gets confused.

I can't deny I'm somewhat good with a sword. But, compared to this guy, I'm basically a seasoned swordsman like Hakurou. Strange, his sword skill lacks technique, like a child's even.

Though Benimaru had superior skills in terms of the sword. The Phantom still manages to catch up with Benimaru.

I see, so he has this much base power at least. Is it his skill that's making him go up against me in a sword fight without difficulty?

"What's wrong? Can you focus, or else I'll catch you off guard and kill you in an instant."

Wait, he's said that twice already, focus. It's as if he's fixated on it. He says he's gonna catch me off guard but hasn't yet. I think I'm getting a read on this guy's skill. Though even so, I gotta be careful with facing an awakened monster like this guy.

"Grrr, focus will you! I can't fight like this.... !!!"

"So it seems, the less I pay attention to you, the weaker you get."

"Q-quite arrogant are we? Don't you know, I still have—"

As the Phantom spoke, Shizue quickly stroke its core from behind.

"I suppose your skill increases your power or something? Well, it's quite nasty, but only to idiots that don't think as they fight." Benimaru exclaimed.

"Damn you..."

Shizue's strike was inflicted with paralysis. Which shouldn't have worked against that guy. 

"So paralysis did the job? His resistances were all fake too?" said Shizue.

"I don't know what you saw, but thank god you didn't tell me. Otherwise, we'd both be here still fighting him thinking he was strong."

"Agreed. Now, shall we tell Rimuru our victory?" said Shizue.

"Of course we will."
