Chapter 22/24 -- You're Not too Tired to Dance, Right?

Start from the beginning

Shortly she joined Papyrus on the couch, careful not to wake him up as she sat down. She made herself comfortable by snuggling into his side and draping a blanket over both of them.

Y/n looked around for the flipper (remote?) and found it resting on the side table. That also happened to be on Papyrus's side. She reached over to try and grab it. "Stop moving, you're making me uncomfortable..." Papyrus mumbled, reaching for the flipper himself. "Just ask will you...?"

"I will never ask you to do anything for me unless it's to reach the higher shelf," Y/n replied saltily. "Thank you." She took the flipper from his hand and got comfortable again, now with the addition of his arm wrapped around her shoulders.

She flipped through the channels lazily, looking for something to watch, but ultimately found nothing but Napstaton or static because of the weather and the fact that they were, you know, underground.

The couple sat in silence for a little while, simply enjoying the relaxing alone time they so rarely had.

Papyrus shifted in his spot and pulled out the remote again, turning the TV back on with his eyes fixated on the screen; like he was looking for something. "What are you doing?" Y/n asked tiredly.

"Something," he replied, only half paying attention to her. She frowned at him. He knew she absolutely hated vague answers to simple questions.

"That's not an answer Pap."

"Well, your question will be answered in a little bit."

"How much is a little bit for your standards?"

Papyrus thought for a moment before turning to her with a grin. "Not long."

Y/n groaned and slouched farther into the couch. "You're so difficult..." she mumbled. Papyrus only nodded in agreement.

And then there was music...

"She's watching the taxi driver, he pulls away..."

Papyrus got up from the couch and held out his hand, a wide grin spreading across his face with an orange blush. "May I have this dance, milady?"

"She's been locked up inside her apartment, a hundred days..."

Y/n looked up to him and smiled. She nodded and got up, taking his hand as the song continued. From where was it playing? She didn't know, and really didn't care at the moment.

All she focused on was her lover in front of her, his hand on her waist and the other leading as best he could. He was trying at least. Y/n only tried to follow and not laugh. They both had no idea what they were doing, mostly stumbling about the room, trying not to knock things over or trip over each other's feet as they twirled and dipped to the rhythm and lyrics.

"She's talking to angels, counting the stars, making a wish on a passing car..."

Y/n began to sing to the lyrics as the chorus began again, never breaking eye contact with Papyrus as they smiled at each other. She didn't care what her voice sounded like, she only wanted to sing to him the lyrics that seemed to... fit, in this instance.

"She's dancing with strangers, falling apart, waiting for Superman to pick her up... In his arms, yeah...In his arms, yeah... Waiting for Superman..."

Papyrus wanted to be smooth and decided to pick her up and spin her around the room for this verse, his arms firmly holding her thighs against his chest. They both laughed, and Papyrus set her down, continuing to dance with her.

"If life was a movie then it wouldn't end like this...left without a kiss. Still she smiles... Ooh, the way she smiles..."

Papyrus snuck a kiss on her cheek and spun her around once again as the line finished. Y/n giggled and grabbed his hand, pulling her body into his and looking up. She smiled as the chorus began again and they freestyle danced through it, singing to the lyrics as loudly as they could, meeting each other's eyes for some of the words.

"She's talking to angels, counting the stars, making a wish on a passing car... She's dancing with strangers, fallin' apart...Waiting for Superman to pick her up... In his arms, yeah..."

The song continued.

"She's waiting for Superman...to lift her up and take her anywhere...! Show her love, oh, and flying through the air... Save her now, before it's too late tonight...
She's waiting for Superman..."

Y/n and Papyrus laughed and flopped onto the couch, both exhausted from the events of the day. The girl caught Papyrus staring intently at her. She gave him a questioning look. "What's wrong...?"

"That was... fun..." he said softly, leaning in her direction of the couch so he was closer now. She grinned and nodded in agreement, her cheeks flushing crimson.

His hand held her chin gently and he fingered her bottom lip with his thumb, giving her an almost pleading look. Y/n's grin widened, and she leaned forward a bit, giving him permission. Papyrus grinned back and leaned forward, meeting her lips, and kissing her passionately. His phalanges tangled in her hair as he pressed his mouth harder on hers, wanting so badly for her to know he loved her. That he wanted nothing but only the best to befall her. Her arms slid up his back and she smiled in the kiss, loving every second they spent so close together.

Y/n slowly pulled back panting, desperately needing air after the heated session. She gazed up at him, still smiling and probably looking something like a tomato with how hot she felt. She held his head in her hands and leaned forward again, hoping to return it, only for him to pull away.

Papyrus grinned and sat up, getting off her and the couch completely. "W-where are you going...?" Y/n asked, confused by this. He only turned around and stuck his tongue out at her, walking swiftly to the stairs. "Charmerrrr come back!"

"Come and get me, I dare you," he taunted, holding onto the railing like a ship mast and smiling mischievously.

"Oh it's on Carrot-Top-"

Y/n leaped from her spot on the couch and chased him up the stairs and down the hall, both laughing all the way. She chased him into his room; he skillfully dodged all her attempts to grab him, and this continued for the other two rooms of the house.

Papyrus teleported out of sight after they went through the rooms, so Y/n raced to the kitchen.

"Geez woman I just need a snack-"

"NOT UNTIL I GET MY KISS!" She shouted playfully, pointing an accusatory finger at him. Papyrus looked genuinely scared, going to one end of the table while she occupied the other end.

They moved from one end to the next, both too scared to make a run for it. The circling only stopped when the couple heard the front door open.

"Oh big surprise the house didn't burn doo....own..." Sans walked in with a bag of groceries and a band-aid over a new cut on his cheekbone, his face turning from cheerful to confusion when he saw the two.

Y/n's hair was a mess and she held onto the table as she glared at Sans, Papyrus was making a sign to say "don't ask," and also looking directly at his brother with pleading eyes.

"I... think you two need to...um... You know what I won't ask, just get out of my kitchen please," Sans said slowly, putting the bag onto the counter. He shooed them out (which took a lot considering both wanted to help or eat the new snacks), and the couple snickered as they retired somewhere else...

So.... It's been a long time? Sorry about that...

But I'm back now! So that's good. Sorry for the kinda... filler of an update, but I hope you liked the stupidity I wrote after 3 weeks of not writing. The quality could be better, but it's whatever I guess.

2 more chapters to write and then I'll be done with this book! So that's definitely awesome.

Have a fantastic day or night, and for those in school, I have finally joined you in the summer break squad (⌐■_■)
