"TAADA! You have made your very first caramel frappuccino!!! Taste it!" Soohee exclaimed in joy.
That small moment of suspense when Yena placed her lips on the straw...
"Mmmhmm!!! It tastes pretty good!" Yena tried to sound as optimistic as possible to Soohee.
It was too obvious to Soohee that Yena wasn't feeling it. After all, Yena and her have been the best of friends for fifteen years. Of course, Soohee would know when she was lying or telling the truth just by listening to Yena's tone or reading her facial expressions.
"GREAT RIGHT?!! I knew it since it was your most favourite drink here! That's why I taught you this." Soohee responded happily when she saw Yena making an effort to lighten up the mood.
"You know? Usually, Starbucks gets lesser customers during your 6 pm shift since everyone is getting ready to go home. But, guess what? You would still get the same amount of salary as I do!" Soohee said while she prepared another drink for the next customer.

"It's going to be 6 pm soon, your shift is directly after mine. Aish... how I wished we had the same shift timing... And, also we will be assigned to our dorms on Monday, you know that right? I hope we are still dormmates but, our chances are lesser." Soohee mumbled with a disappointed tone.
Their school was founded by a vampire and a human. The story goes by where the both of them fell in love and wanted to make a place where vampires and humans could socialise with each other. But, Yena did not comprehend the reasons why were the likelihood of being dormmates with Soohee was lower, they were in the same class though.
"Why?"
"Haven't you heard? The vampire prince is going to transfer to our school on Monday. The king wanted him to find a soulmate for himself and then, the prince would be able to take over the throne. The King doesn't mind whether his soulmate was a human or a vampire since some of their ancestors had human soulmates too. However, all of this was still up to the prince's choice. The King wanted him to transfer to our school hence, our school changed some of our dormitory rules. To cut it short, your dormmate can either have the same gender as you or an opposite-gender of yours. The school would to encourage romance but, not in a physical way but, an emotional way." Soohee explained.
"Oh, I see. Don't worry because I'm going to be with you right?"
"Of course!" Soohee beamed.
Out of the blue, a notification abruptly popped up on Soohee's phone.
"Shit, I need to go see my grandma, I just received a notification that she's in the hospital right now. I have to leave right now! love you! AND PLEASE STAY SAFE! better text me before you sleep." Soohee said, untied her apron and left the cafe, with a slight worry in her heart.
"She will be safe. She will be safe." Soohee constantly reassured herself.

The sky turned dark, signalling that it was nighttime. And, there were no more customers coming in after 7 pm.
Pretty easy-going for Yena since she wished for a peaceful atmosphere.
"Should I stay in the hotel again tonight? I've got some spare cash on hand though..." she asked herself when she caught sight of her luggage bag that was next to her.
