Saving Izumo and The Unforseen Accident

Start from the beginning

"Ah! Bon! You're all right! That's a relief!" Konekomaru said. "What was that bright golden light a few minutes ago?" Ryuji asked. "That was just me." Mavis said. "How did you kill your chimera zombie?" Konekomaru asked.

"I didn't. The chimera didn't notice me at all." Mavis said. "What are you trying to say...?" Rin asked. With that, Mavis started to float. "You see, I'm actually a thought projection." Mavis smiled.

"What?!" Everyone asked in shock. "Wait... Where is your body?!" Yukio asked. "Akia! Did you know about this?!" Ryuji asked me, coming closer to my face.

I backed away slightly. "Maybe I do." I said, nervously.

"My body is in a large crystal in another world. I am supposed to be dead, but the crystal is keeping me alive theoretically. I am stuck in the body of a 13 year old, but I died when I was 24, and the year that I come from, I am 118 years old. I am able to cast illusion magic spells when I'm thought projecting, but I am also able to transfer some of my magical energy to Akia to cast an attack spell." Mavis finally told everyone.

"What?! What's it like to cast a magic spell, Akia? Tell me! I have to know." Rin told me, with determination in his eyes. "I don't know... it feels draining." I said, not being able to explain it further, because I didn't know how.

"How is Akia able to cast magic spells that she doesn't know?" Yukio asked.

"It's simple. I transfer the spell into her mind, as well as ethernano, and she casts the attack spell." Mavis said.

"And what is ethernano?" Konekomaru asked.

"It's tiny particles that the human body in our world can absorb, and when wizards want to expel that particle, it comes in the form of magic energy. So far, I can only sense traces of ethernano in all of you, but you haven't discovered how to access it yet. Only Akia has, when she was transferred to another world through an anima. An anima is a dimensional rift in space and time that acts as a portal to another world. I came through an anima as well, but I sense that it will open again in a few minutes." Mavis said.

Just then we heard a voice speaking through the speakers. "Welcome, unsightly cockroaches. I am the head of the Illuminati eastern research facility, Gedouin Michael!" The voice said. "Ge-Geodouin...?! Is that his name?" Rin asked.

"How dare you invade my sanctuary. This is the sanctuary of the experiments on the elixir of immortality! Those who intrude the sanctuary deserve only death! I will make you fully understand the extent of your sin. I will exterminate every last one of you...!" Gedouin yelled.

"Elixir?" Ryuji asked. "Immortality?" Mavis asked.

"What is he talking about?!" I asked. "In other words... Kamiki was abducted to serve as an experimental subject in a research to make medicine, or an elixir, granting immortality! And most likely... The zombies we have been fighting until now are also victims of these experiments!" Mavis said.

"That's exactly right. The zombies are all f-a-i-l-u-r-e-s of the human experiments. They're the tourists that gathered at Dream Town Inari. To create the elixir with the most powerful regenerative ability, I need a large amount of experimental subjects." Gedouin told us.

I covered my mouth in disbelief. "Wha... You're lying, right?!" Rin asked in shock.

"What's wrooong? Relax. The drinks and foods sold in the Foxes' Alley... Contain a narcotic drug which procures a sense of well-being in their brains. If they eat, they want to eat more. The tourists who can't live without the Foxes' Ally are selected to become residents of Dream Town Inari and experimental subjects. Thanks to this drug, the subjects feel less fear and pain during the experiments. Using force during the experiments or inflicting unnecessary pain would be cruel. This king arrangement was made by Lucifer...how compassionate, isn't he?" Gedouin started laughing evilly. I swear I would find him, and turn him into a pile of ashes!
