Still Here Ch. 12

"Damn you're a dumbass Joey" I tell myself out loud as I run back to my car.

Can this day get any worse? At least I have my baby to look forward to.

I walk back inside and see Josh by the vending machine. He turns to me and says if I saw anyone and I tell him no.

"Well do you want to go eat or something I'm a bit hungry." He says.

"Sure where do you want to go?" I hope he says in & out.

"Let's go to little Italy I really want alfredo pasta."

"I'm not really in the mood for pasta."

"Don't worry they have pizza there." He says getting up.

"Fine let me just take my things upstairs."

"Ok I'll wait down here."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"Ok" There is something strange with him going on. He always goes with me to my dorm.

I drop my stuff down and ask my roommate Sarah if she wants anything from little Italy but she says no because her and her girlfriend are going out to dinner. Yea she's lesbian, but she made it clear to me that I don't have to worry about her checking me out because I'm not her type. I don't know if I should be happy or offended.

"Ok I'm ready." I say as I meet up with Josh again.

"Great let's go."

We get to little Italy. I order an individual pizza and to my luck they weren't serving any today. I ended up getting cheese ravioli's with alfredo sauce.

"Happy anniversary" Josh says out of nowhere. Wait anniversary? We just started going out again.

"It's not our anniversary."

"Actually it is because I'm going by the last time we were dating."

"We broke up though."

"Or you could call it a pause in our relationship."

"Is that what you're calling it?"

"Yes."

"Ok. Well then according to you how long have we've been going out for."

"Let's see we were together six months, then we paused for five months, and now today that makes it the sixth month so we've been together a whole year."

"Wow that's a long time." I say feeding his enthusiasm.

"I know. Want to know what I had in mind?" He says smiling at me.

"What?"

"How about you stay to sleep at my house today?"

"Hmm... let me think."

"Please" He says taking my hand in his. "I promise all we'll do is sleep. I know your whole thing about" He whispers the next part "'sleeping' with someone when you aren't married." This only made me remember Joey and our one night stand or as I like to call it liaison.

"What are you thinking about?" Josh asks confused.

"What side of the bed I'm going to sleep on" I lie.

He laughs and starts eating his pasta again.

*two weeks later*
