How It All Began

Chapter 2

"Okay. I hope you get over your heartbreak soon -" Before Carter can finish, Ellie is already pouncing in him.

"I'm going to get myself some coffee. I'll be right back." The teacher says as he goes out locking the door behind him.

We have an after school detention.

I still can't wrap my mind on how we got an after school detention. I mean it could have been much worse but suspension would even better than spending an hour here for the whole week after school.

And the week just began!

Ellie and Carter had a fight. I don't know if it can be considered a fight considering the fact that, Carter didn't even touch a hair on Ellie's head.

Ellie however, went all 'Tarzan' on Carter. Nellie and I tried to stop her, we really tried but that girl is way stronger that looks. I guess that explains why Carter has a busted lip, a black eye and some scratches along his cheek - thanks to Ellie's long acrylic nails.

Someone saw the fight and reported us immediately. We were summoned into Principal Wales's office and he gave us a week of after school detention.

"This is all you fault!" Ellie screams to Carter who is nursing his eye with a pack of ice.

"My fault?! It's my fault you pounced on me and started fighting me?" Carter screams a vein sticking out his forehead.

"Yes! If you didn't -"

"Guys! You've already managed to get into trouble so stop arguing already." Nellie comes in.

"Well I won't stop till I find out why he decided to *bleep* another girl while he was still dating Lexi." Ellie says aggressively.

"I'm not discussing that with you. It's between Lexi and I." Carter says glancing my way.

"I don't -"

"Guys!" Nellie yells.

They ignore Nellie and continue arguing with colourful words. I'm pretty sure the whole school can hear this argument.

"Like I said, it's none of your *bleep* business. I'm not telling you anything."

"You are -"

"Carter, I think Ellie is right. Tell us the reason why you did that." I finally come in.

"Lexi -"

"Please just get to the point!"

He sighs removing the ice from his eye, "As much as I'm sorry,  I won't lie and say it was a mistake. I needed the sex and since you weren't available, I had to satisfy my needs elsewhere."

Carter's words are like a blow to my gut. My mouth quivers slightly and I try my best not to breakdown.

"You're such an *bleep*." Those are the last words Ellie says before pouncing on Carter for the second time today.

Today has been a long day.

Thankfully, this time around, we were able to separate the two before we got punished any further than we already were.

Currently I'm at home. The house is eerily silent, signalling that, both my parents are still at work and Chance is at football trials.

I walk to my room and have a quick shower then throw on an oversized sweatshirt and shorts. I put on my bedtime socks and jump on my bed ready to sleep.

Before my head can hit the pillow, my phone goes off. I take it from under my pillow. It's a text from Ellie and it's on the groupchat the three of us created.

Ellie - We're coming over now. I have a plan!

I can't help but roll my eyes. Of course, Ellie has a plan. She's the best when it comes to the planning of revenge. Carter does deserve whatever Ellie has planned.

After he cheats on me, he blames me going all, I'm the reason why he cheated on me. That twat! He has the audacity. He's going to regret ever cheating on me.

Few minutes later, both Ellie and Nellie burst into my room.

"I'm so excited for this plan! This is the best I have come together with in ages. You will love it." Ellie smiles as she sits on my bed.

She opens her backpack and takes out a large book that, 'THE REVENGE BOOK!', is written boldly on the front page.

"Of course I will love it. Anything that with hurt that pig." I smile in anticipation.

"That's the vibe." Ellie takes out a red pen and opens to a fresh page on the book. She writes:

Operation: Hurt Carter Back (HCB)

Plan:

She then turns to me still smiling.

"You're going to find a new boyfriend!"

"What?"

"Yeah, you heard me right. We're finding you a new boyfriend to make Carter jealous."
