Part 26- I Love You

I grabbed a fruit bar and a water bottle. I was really not that hungry.

"That's it?! Girl you gotta eat more!" Athena commented.

"Yeah...I just-"

"Okay I get it! It's hard to eat when he's not here right?" she was teasing me.

"Shut up" I said chuckling.

She actually kept me really good company all this time. She has a bright energy. Mashallah.

We got back into the elevator with our food. She had a bag of chips and a carbonated drink.

Not that healthy but she still manages to look really good. Her secret : minding her business and reaching for her goals. I totally agree with that.

"You know I think you should come here often, I can teach you some more skills" she suddenly says.

"That sounds great, I'll consider that" I agreed.

"Oh right! I forgot to ask you um...do you know Fazal in a personal way or something?" she proceeds to ask.

"Mmh...I kind of do but it goes a long way back in high school? How'd you know though?" I asked.

"Oh...I um... I kind of saw him keeping an eye on you as you were entering the training room with the others..." she said.

"Like you mean, he was looking at me?" I asked  to be sure.

She nodded in an awkward way.

I mean it should be normal since he is just a friend of mine but the way she's mentioning it makes it seem like it's not.

"Alright, spill the tea" I said.

"What? No it's not like you think!" she said laughing it off.

"What am I supposed to think? I can easily tell you're hiding something and you can consider telling me since I know Fazal and I'm good at keeping secrets" I said smirking at her.

No but really, she can trust me.

"I kind of...I like him" she said hiding her face.

I burst out laughing. She's so adorable. I really thought that she was more of the tough girl inside and out. Turns out, she's soft as well.

"It's not funny stop~" she was feeling embarrassed but I couldn't stop laughing.

The elevator finally stopped at the first floor as the doors opened.

"It's okay to like someone, there's nothing to be embarrassed about!" I told her.

We stepped out of the elevator and as soon as we did, we met with them.

Aslan and the others were all there. And there he was, standing in front of me. Staring into my soul with his chocolate brown eyes. His face was bit bruised, his hand was wrapped with his blue bandana like he got hurt there.

As if the time stopped and as if him and I were the only ones present, I took a step forward to him and then another step until I just ran to him and hugged him with all my strength. I can finally breathe properly.

He hugged me back the same way before pulling away. I took his hand in mine and checked to see if he was hurt and I was right.

"What happened?" I asked him concerned.

"It's nothing to worry about...I'll be fine now that I'm back to you" he said hugging me once again.
