I don't want to hear anything about what I call him. I'm a Daddy's girl and that's that. Our relationship is unbreakable. Don't be that kind of weirdo.

"Bacon, eggs, and sausage. I know you love your bread, but I ain't have time to make any. So make some if you want some. Are you anxious at all?" my dad said, as he fixed our plates.

"Okay and always, but just a little suprisingly. Eight or tweleve?", I replied and asked referring to his work hours.

"12", he responded.

I nodded, grabbing my plate, and sitting down. My dad was a nurse at the hospital so him working 12 hour shifts was pretty common. I began to eat watching my dad grab his things, and a plate of food.

As he went out the front door, we yelled in sync, "have a good day!"

Then the sound of the door closing came a short moment after. I got up making sure the door was locked, and checked three times before sitting back down. I finished eating then checked my phone. I had a notification from Fiverr, a few from Shopify, some random Instagram live notifications, and one text.

I immediately dismiss all the IG notifications, and unfollow some random folks. What? They ain't making me no money. I checked Fiverr and see I received a little tech job for $22 a hour making a website. This should be easy. I decided to just do it when I got to school. I open my Shopify seeing seven new sales from this morning. Its still early, so not looking too bad.

Finally, I check the text it's from someone under my contacts as "Reese". Reese? I think about it a while, before realizing who it was. I remember now that short stud. On the very last day of school last year she came up to me on the bus and just put her number in my phone and texted herself. She told me I would see alot more of her next year. I finally open the new text it read, "I'll pick you up from the bus stop."

All of a sudden I'm rethinking even going to school. Why something extra going on? Why can't I just make my coins and graduate? My social bar is as high as a fucking bottom of the ocean. So why?

I finally pick up my stuff and left the house. Checking if the door is locked a few times before leaving.

I start walking to the bus stop, not seeing any cars just a few other students waiting for the bus. As a walk I hear the bus come pass me, and see it slow down not very far ahead for the stop. I continue to walk, but a car stops smoothly right on the side of me. I look and the window rolls down. I quickly recognize it's Reese. Admittedly I'm bad with names, but I don't forget a face. I bend down to the window.

"Get in", she said looking over at me.

I was weary of getting in the car with someone I barely knew. I looked back at the bus, the other students were still getting on, so I still had time.

I guess she could tell I was having mixed feelings, because she said, "make up your mind".

I definitely didn't like riding the bus with all those rowdy kids, so maybe riding with her wouldn't be terrible. Besides if she tried something I could fight her off shes pretty small. Yep. Right. I opened the passenger door and got in. I had convinced myself to do it some how even though I myself wasn't convinced. If anything happens, I'll have to blame it on my evil twin.

Reese obviously had a favorite color. Her car was grey. And, so was her fit. It was all grey. And I do mean all grey. From the beanie to the soles of her shoe. Pretty basic. Also different too I guess. I admit she looked good though. We pulled off after the bus heading to the school.

She had her music playing which was compelling. It was just piano, but I ain't mind. There might be more to her mind then the surface shows.

Her voice cuts through the music, "where's the fire".

"What", I reply confused.

She continues, "wheres the fire to your fit? You look basic". I-. I'm dumbfounded I know this- She can't be calling me basic when-. I just calm my nervous can't let folks get under my skin.

"Where's your boaster seat?" I question back.

"Heyy", she says pouting like a little kid.

"Aww", I play coo to her then laugh.

She ain't too bad. We pull into the school and she parks. She quickly hops out. Reese leans on the hood and pulls out her vape. She pulls from it and just watches the students move about the front of the school.

She turns back looking through the windshield and says, "come on bestfriend". Woah there buddy too much dip on ya chip. It was one laugh. I mentally face palm myself. I don't know why I was still in the car anyway, maybe anxiety finally coming in. But, this is gonna be one interesting year.
