抖阴社区

You chuckled.

"You made a stupid move." You decided to tell him.

"I don't think I did. You have to be more specific." He replied in his cold voice continuing to look at the view that was in front of him.

"Using your death note to save me. Giving up your life for mine." You explained in a slow and soft voice. Your eyes were sparkling. In your mind, you were recalling that moment and how emotional it was. Recalling L's final look at you as he was dissolving into sand. Dying.

"I don't remember doing anything during my time as a... half-shinigami. Aizawa informed me about some things-" L held in. He was staring at the view that was in front of him. You weren't sure what had cut him off. Perhaps he hesitated to say the rest of his thought out loud, or maybe he still hasn't formed the ending of the sentence in his mind yet.

"Well, thank you anyway. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you." You said and felt your face turn red. It was strange to express emotions to L. You turned your face away pretending to look outside and hoped that L wouldn't turn around and look at you.

"You were important to the case, I had to keep you alive. I was a half-shinigami, that no one would see or believe." he interrupted the silence trying to justify his actions. "Also, I acted in self-defense." you knew he referred to killing Light. "He deserved it anyway." L added and turned to you. "Also, it was not a stupid move. It was what made me turn back into a human. I am always right." He continued. He was talking a lot, you noticed. You knew what he was saying was true, but there was more behind his words. Maybe L was afraid to show emotions. They were never his strong suit anyway. You smiled. "Case solved and you are back. Everything turned out great." You summed up cheerful.

"Remember when we first met?" L started after a while. "Yes." you replied quietly.

"Did you ever think that this is where we would end up?" He wondered. "No. But I had a strange feeling about you when I first met you. I didn't know your real identity, but this feeling... It was as if part of me knew what was going to happen..." You tried to explain what was going on at that moment. "As if it knew how important that stranger would become." You added. "And now it all makes sense." You were glad you listened to that feeling and knew, that L felt the same way at that moment.

"Intuition." he elucidated. "I felt something strange too, but I never thought that you would turn out to be the key to solving the Kira case." He shrugged his shoulders and tilted his head lightly. He thought for a moment before he turned to you. "I'm quite impressed!" he said with an expression of surprise written on his face. The expression was so light, almost unnoticeable, but you knew it was there behind the semblance of boredom and lack of interest that he always portrayed.

"Thank you. That is a high compliment!" You felt proud. "But you did most of the work. I was just in the right position willing to risk my life and follow your plan, hoping that it won't drive me to my death." You laughed.

"It didn't. We are not done yet, though. There is a lot of paperwork to do and we are still waiting for the analysis of the record from N. Also, you need to fill me in on all details." He explained as he turned to the door. "Let's head back inside to the others. We still have a lot of work to do." Once he was done speaking he started walking past you back inside the room that used to be the HQ of the Kira investigation.

You knew that he didn't feel comfortable being complimented and wanted to escape the situation. You followed him inside with a good feeling in your guts about how everything turned out in the end.

The police officers and detectives put all the folders and pieces of evidence on a table, but they didn't take anything with them.

You guessed it was L's order.

They were finally gone and everyone from the Japanese task force was gathered, except for Soichiro Yagami. You wondered whether or not it was because of his son's death. If he took some time off to be with his family or just away from the task force because he couldn't face them, especially you.

Sitting around a glass-topped table that had several papers, note pads, and files laying on it, the task force discussed the time between L's first death to his recent return in human form. He mainly wanted you and Aizawa to share what you have experienced with him and his plan. This time it was different from the last time you talked to the whole task force. This time everyone believed you without questioning or accusing you of things. You guessed that with L's return and the truth about Light coming to Light -how ironic-, they felt bad for questioning you and believing Light back then. They realized that you were right from the start and that you were on L's side, hunting the truth.

N was mentioned as well.

L had trusted him with his plan as well and with the execution, gathering, and analysis of the tape that recorded Light's confession. N and L knew each other since they were kids and N's return to the US was just a lie. L had a copy of the tape with him that he wanted to play to the task force. Besides N and L, you were the first ones to listen to it.

Afterward, you explained your secret work with the SPK and your plan. You explained that you knew Light was Kira before you joined the JTF and you worked with L before he disappeared as well.

L also explained that the inhumane details should be left out of the reports because it would only cause confusion and fear instead of clarification. He also explained, that an additional special report should be written about death gods, their notes, about half-shinigami's as well as Shinigami's and the world that was unknown to most people, since it might be helpful for future cases. This report should be kept from the public in order not to cause confusion and scare the population.

You were in charge of writing it.

You couldn't help but remember Mutsu.
