She had me cornered, and smiled, "Finally. Now, you have nowhere to run! I'll kill you, and your stupid little husband, and place myself as Matriarch! Just like it was supposed to be from the start!" Clover laughed, before charging, sword in hand.
I let her get close before I run towards the base of the cliff, and flipped over the wall. She didn't have the time to stop before I threw one of my remaining arcane swords at her, and into her stomach. A loud scream came from the woman.
"P-Please! Wait! Let me go! Have mercy on me! I'm your mother!" She shouted, crying. I began walking up to her, and the woman sighed relieved, "T-Thank you sweethe-" But before she could finish. I take my last sword, and stab her in the throat.
"You don't deserve mercy after all you done." I shout, very unlike me, as my hatred dripped off my voice, as I watch the life leave her body.
She can no longer hurt people. I thought, My people, family, friends, and myself. We're all safe from her cruelty.
I make the swords disappear, as I plummet to the ground, exhausted. Rain ran past the trees, and towards me. He was carrying his old swords before dropping them behind him as he ran.
"Stella!" He shouted, hugging me tightly, "Are you okay? Are you hurt?" He asked, his worry showing through his voice. I giggle, knowing he just cares about me, and wants to know I'm safe. I boop his nose.
"Yes, I'm okay. Maybe a bruise or scratch here or there, but I'll be fine!" I giggle. He sighed relieved, before seeing Clover's body lying in the now blood red snow.
"She's..."
I nod, "Yes. My mother is dead."
He paused, and just held me for a minute, his chin rested at the top of my head. I smiled as I nuzzled into his chest.
"Wait. If she's gone... how are we still here?" Rain asked. I pause, and let go.
"There is still one more person here. Remember that guy Kane told us about? Lance? He was one of the enderwatchers that came before us."
Rain nodded, "That stupid guy who tried to overthrow Ceris? Yeah, I remember him."
"He's here as well."
My husband paused, and picked up his diamond swords that he had brought, "Where do we even begin looking for him?"
I smile, "Well, I did read that this world doesn't go on forever! It only goes about a two to three miles around from where the dream started. Since you were the first one here, do you know where that is?" I ask.
He paused for a minute, "Well, I spawned at the old camp we made, the one you got... turned at."
"Good, now, the book said that we need to go as far away from that. So... that would be... aha! This direction!" I say, pointing a little to the east. "After we find that place, we'll easily find him!"
We began walking hand in hand for a few minutes before Rain asked, "Hey... how do you know all this stuff? I didn't know you studding dream magic?"
I pause for a second.
"I'm not really sure? I nor Clover studied any of the sort, at least of my knowledge. She could've studied before having me, and it was just a magic she gave me that I never knew of." I say simply out of pure assumption.
"What about your dad?" He asked. "You think he ever studied it?"
"I never actually met my dad..." I say, looking at the snowy grass. "Mum never told me a thing of 'em. Just that he's gone. To be honest, I tell myself the same."
He turned to look at me, "Why?"
A sad smile appeared on my face, "It made life easier. Got rid of the false belief that he would ever come back for me. I mean, if he ever did want to, you think he'd at least try to save me from Clover, right?"
Rain nodded sadly, "... I'm sorry... that things were so rough for you back then." He said.
"It made me stronger tho-" I tried saying before he squeezed my hand.
"You were a child! You didn't need to be stronger, you needed to be safe!" He said, which made me go quiet. He was right though. I did always hate that saying whenever someone said it. We walked the rest of the way, in silence.
~
After a lot of strolling forward we came across a part where the snowy terrain met some sort of void. However it did not fade into one another or anything. It was like pieces of a puzzle with a few missing here or there. We both walked, and walked, until the pieces were gone, and replaced with nothing but an empty void. Or, what we thought was an empty void.
"Where is that coward hiding?" Rain asked, his old diamond swords drawn.
All of a sudden, I hear what sounds like a teleport behind me. Before I could even turn around...
Clank!
Rain had deflected Lance's karmabit from impaling my back with his diamond sword, and kicked the rouge mage away. Lance stumbled back, about to fall over, before he did some sort of roundoff, landing in a graceful pose, and conjuring up nine arcane blades.
Because I've learned of Lance, and his skill in magic, and the fact I had just killed Clover -another powerful magics user-, I think not using an arcane blades and beams would be useful. Unless I wanted to risk getting the scars. Instead I decided to call upon an old sword...
All of a sudden, my greatsword, the one first bestowed upon me when I first became queen found its way into my grip, and materialized in this realm. Considering I was able to call the sword to my grasp, this may have been how I got it. Hopefully, it didn't give mom a heart attack, nor hit her on the way to my hand in the real world.
I charge Lance, jump, and try to cut him down from behind. But instead he tossed his other blade, and teleported away, and kicked me back into Rain.
"My, my, little Stella. That is no way to say hello to family now!" He chuckled, spinning his karmabit around on his finger.
"What...." I say, confused. Family? He's not my family?
He frowned prettily, "Family!" He smiled, before realizing I had no clue what I was talking about, "You do know who I am... right?"
"Lance. The rouge End mage. Who doesn't know tha-"
The mage made a 'tisk' noise, rolling his eyes, "That's not what I mean smart arse. Who I am in our family. Who I am to you."
Rain charged at Lance, furiously. The mage only teleported behind him, and knocked him out with a swift hit to the neck. Angry myself, I picked up his sword, and threw it at him. It only hit him in the arm, but it was better than nothing!
"What did you do that for!" I scream, readying my sword.
He smiled, "Why, I wanted to talk to my lovely daughter without being interrupted!"
