S2 Episode 13: Sacrifice

Prowl comes over and puts a comforting hand on his shoulder. "You know you love her. Make sure she knows.", Prowl said.

Optimus looked at Prowl. He walked out of the room and into the main one Sari was in her P.J. sitting on an sleeping Serenity's lab, while she watched a movie.

Optimus moved over to the pair. "It's getting close to bedtime, Sari.", Optimus said.

Sari looked at Optimus, then to Serenity. "Aw! But, it was just getting to the good part.", Sari complained.

Optimus tapped his foot patiently. "Okay! Okay!", Sari continued.

She stood up and gently hugged Serenity. Once Sari was gone, Optimus then looked Serenity.

He gently touched her face, pushing off some dust that had fallen on her face. Serenity didn't awaken, as he lifted her up in his arms and carried her to her chambers.

He then laid her down gently he sat by her bedside and grasped her hand in his. He wanted to hold and protect her, but uncertainty took a hold of him again.

Standing up, he left her bedside. The next morning, Serenity and Sari were at the park.

Sari was swinging and Serenity was off with her thoughts. "Oh, Optimus!", Serenity thought.

Her mind once again wander off to the love of her life. "Why must things be so distant between us? At one point, I think... Yes, we are meant for each other. We seem so uncertain. Why must it be this way?", Serenity thought.

She then looked over at one part of the park where a couple were kissing. A sense of longing filled her.

"Optimus, I love you with all my spark! I want to believe you love me in the same way. But, what if it's hopeful thinking? What do I know of love? Maybe you don't want to pursue a relationship and I'm pressuring you. Or what if I'm hurting you?", Serenity thought. She was so deep in her thoughts, she didn't hear the small voice yelling up at her.

"SERENITY!", Sari yelled out. She jumped and looked down at Sari.

"Wow! You were really gone that time. Thinking of your boyfriend?~", Sari teased, not realizing how much that statement truly did hurt Serenity on the inside. Serenity then looked away.

Sari then frowned. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean-", Sari said.

"No, it's nothing. Just trapped in my mind again.", Serenity reassured her. She then gets up.

"Ready to head to the base?", Serenity asked. Sari nods, as they start to walk.

"Serenity, you really do love him. Don't you?", Sari said. Serenity remained quiet.

"I can see he loved you, too.", Sari continued. Serenity then turned to her.

"What makes you so sure?", Serenity asked. Sari then looked up at Serenity.

"Because, I know you, Serenity. And I know Optimus and I have watched enough love movies to know it.", Sari replied. "So, you're the love expert?", Serenity asked her.

"Yep.", Sari replied. Serenity then laughed.

"What would I do without you?", Serenity asked. "Die of boredom.", Sari stated, as Serenity ruffles her hair.

Just as they were about at the base, Serenity stopped. She looked at Sari, got down on one knee, and picked her up.

"Thank you, Sari.", Serenity said. They both joined their heads and a small electrical spark zapped between them.

Serenity looked down at the young girl before her. The young girl she had come to love.

The young girl she had come to see, as her little sister. "Serenity? Are you alright?", Sari asked her.
