S2 Episode 13: Sacrifice

"Oh, scrap!", Optimus mumbled. Serenity looked at him oddly.

"Are you okay, Optimus?", Serenity asked. "Yeah! Yeah! I'm fine.", Optimus replied.

He then started scanning the ground. "I'm just not feeling like myself.", Optimus continued.

Serenity giggled, trying to cover it with her hand. She walked over and intertwined her fingers with his.

Optimus looked up at her and then looked down at their hands. He then saw the rings, right by her.

He quickly dove for them. "Sorry! I-I...", Optimus stuttered.

Serenity laughed slightly and grabbed his hand to help him up. Serenity then moved away and looked up at the stars.

"Are you missing home?", Optimus asked, standing next to her. "Sort of. I'm... I'm missing my mother and... I think I found out something about my sister.", Serenity replied.

"What did you find out?", Optimus asked. "I don't want to say, yet.", Serenity replied.

She turned and took his hand in hers. "You have always been there for me, Optimus. I appreciate that so much. You've been helping me deal with the loss of my mother, my past, and you have helped me find my sister. I think I might know where she is. And I'm going to look into it more tomorrow.", Serenity continued.

Optimus then felt the smile leave his face. Sadness overwhelmed him.

He looked down at the rings and then put them away. "Serenity, I will do all that I can to help you find your sister. And... I will not let anything get in the way of your search.", Optimus told her.

He started to walk away, as Serenity reached out for him. As she watched him walk away, she didn't see who was coming up behind her, until it was too late.

One arm grabbed her around her torso, preventing her from moving her arms, and the other wrapped around her mouth. "It has been a long time, Princess.~", Megatron purred in her ear.

Serenity struggled to break free. "No need to worry about your protector. He will soon be gone and you will be all mine.", Megatron continued.

As Optimus walked away, he felt the sadness overflowing him. Now was not the time to interfere with her life.

She needed a friend. Not a spark mate.

Or in human terms, a husband. He looked back to where he left her.

Maybe he should go back, just to make sure she was safe. But, as he was debating with himself, Optimus suddenly felt a presence behind and ducked just in time for a missile to fly past him.

Bringing out his battle ax, he turned around to be faced with Lugnut and Blitzwing. "You puny Autobot will not stand in the way of Megatron and his glorious plan!", Lugnut shouted out, as he shot another missile at Optimus, who quickly took cover behind a rock.

"Ah! Don't be shy, Autobot! Ahahha!", Random laughed. "I have to get to Serenity.", Optimus said.

He was about to try and sneak away when Lugnut grabbed his shoulder and threw him into a tree. Optimus quickly moved from the tree.

As Blitszwing tried to punch him, Optimus took this time to hit Blitszwing open side, sending him crashing into Lugnut. Optimus then tried running back to where he knew Serenity was, but an ice missile hit the ground underneath him.

"Not so fast, Autobot.", Icy Blitzwing spoke. Optimus threw his ax into the ice to balance himself.

When Lugnut tried again to shoot him, Optimus used his grapplers to pull himself off the ice. "With you gone, Autobot, nothing will stop Megatron from claiming the princess forever!", Lugnut shouted out.
