Wow, Firey wasn't joking when he said that his restaurant serves the best food in the city. I'd definitely come here again to eat sometime. We were both outside, still talking. I wasn't sure why I never noticed, but my tail was wagging excitedly when I was near Firey. 

I mean, it always wags a little whenever I'm around friends or people I knew. But this case was different. My tail seems to wag a bit more, even Firey noticed.

(AN: yes, Leafy also has a tail in this AU. Technically, it's a stem, but I'd like to think of it as a tail oki)

"Hey Leafy, are you that excited to see me now?", he jokingly said.

I was confused for a bit until I saw my tail wagging. I quickly held my tail, blushing, and said, "Uh, I mean, yeah! We haven't seen each other in person for about 6 months, so of course I'm excited!"

Firey raised a eyebrow, then he kept talking to me. I noticed that the sun was gonna set and we were both near the park. 

"Hey Firey! The sun is about to set! Wanna go see it in the park?"

I could've swore Firey kinda stuttered a bit before saying, "Uh- uh yeah! Sure! Let's go!"

Firey's POV

Oki, here I am, about to watch the sunset with my best friend, Leafy. Or maybe more than my best friend? In the park. When Leafy asked to go watch the sunset, I kinda stuttered and even started blushing a bit, but I don't think Leafy noticed. During the walk to the park, I was just nervous and blushing. I didn't even realize that I liked Leafy that way!

Well actually, I kinda realized back at the restaurant, but I was too busy talking with Leafy. No, I take it back. I always liked Leafy for so long, I just didn't realize it back then because we were too busy competing for BFDI, I kept slapping Coiny back then, I betrayed Leafy just to save my reputation (which was a huge mistake that I made that I regret), and I guess I was just too busy to even realize that I liked her as more than just a friend...

Also, I told her that I can also pay for her meal if she wished. She said it was fine, but I insisted. It just felt good to hang out with her again!

Now that I realized I like Leafy, I kinda wanna tell her how I felt, but I was a bit scared because, well, I think I'm in the friendzone.

However, I was kinda busy in my thoughts that I didn't realize Leafy's tail was wagging more rapidly, and Leafy even looked nervous! Maybe she does feel the same way? I thought to myself. I tried catching a glimpse of her face just to see, but we both ended up locking eyes and staring at each other instead.

It felt really awkward, I know. I'm pretty sure it felt awkward for Leafy as well. Then, we both looked away. I was blushing really hard.

Leafy's POV

I accidentally locked eyes with Firey. I quickly looked away, blushing really hard. Well, that was really awkward. I even felt my tail wagging even more. Man, if only I don't have a stem as my tail, it would be so much easier to hide my feelings! I decided not to say anything and kept walking. Firey followed behind.

Eventually, I noticed a bench. I was a little too afraid to ask Firey to sit on the bench, but I think he got the message and began to sit down on the bench. I sat next to him, not too close, of course.

Firey's POV

"Actually, you can get closer if you want." 

"But, I'll die if I do"

"Actually, Golf Ball tested an experiment, so it's fine-"

As soon as I said that, I started blushing really hard and stuttered. "I- I mean, its- its not what you think I just- I just-"

But Leafy leaned on me. And she didn't burn. 

You see, a couple of weeks back, Gold Ball tested a machine, where I'm technically still a flame, I just don't burn things nor do I die from water (thank the oxygen for that!) but I still produce heat. However, if I'm dosed in gasoline, or other flammable liquids, I become a regular flame and I burn things and die from water. 

Anyways, I was blushing even harder than ever. I looked at Leafy and she didn't die, but she was also blushing really hard. 

We kept like this while watching the sunset. There was no one nearby. I thought about holding her hand but I was a bit too nervous and shy to do so. Finally, I couldn't wait anymore and let my fingers interlock with hers.

Leafy jumped a bit at this action. We both stared at each other for a few moments, not knowing what to do.

Then, I noticed an item on the ground. But something about that item looked... strange....

Yeah, ik this is kind of a filler chapter, but this may or may not be related to the story... :)

Now, Ik I just said I don't ship fireafy a couple of chapters back, but this chapter was kinda fun to make

And look, they finally reunite again after half a year!

Oh and also, I wrote this chapter a while back, I just didn't publish it bc, you know, it kinda doesn't have anything to do with the plot and now it kinda does-
