Derek Hale + Two

Co-captain

"Derek!" Peter calls over.

The green eyed kid looks to his uncle and runs over.

"Ya Peter?"

"Which girl is your favorite?" His uncle asks

Derek smiles brightly and points to the blonde with wavy hair.

"Her." He says. "That's the one."

...

Derek and Peter enter the boys locker room, creeping on Scott. Peter holds up a lacrosse stick and says, approaching Scott.

"I never really understood lacrosse. Basketball, now basketball is a sport."

Scott stands there looking at Peter, shocked.

"You're on his side." Scott asks Derek. "Are you forgetting the part when he killed your sister."

"It was a mistake." Derek tries to defend.

"What?" Scott asks incredulously.

"It happens."

"Scott." Peter starts, gaining his attention. "I think you're getting the wrong impression of us." Derek mentally snorts. "We really want to help you reach your full potential."

"By killing my friends?" Scott asks.

"Sometimes the people closest to you can be the ones holding you back the most."

"If they're holding me back from becoming a psychotic nut job like you... I'm okay with that." Scott says.

'Smart kid.' Derek thinks.

Peter slowly walks towards Scott which causes Derek's eyes to widen.

"Maybe you could try to see things from my perspective."

Before Scott and question him, Peter grows his claws and sticks them in Scott's neck. Derek takes one tiny step, wanting to help but knowing he can't. From there, Scott sees the fire.

...

"Hey," Melissa says, putting files away and taking a seat on a chair in the nursing station.

"Sup." Cassidy says, talking a bite of her yogurt.

"How have you been holding up with the Derek thing?"

"I've been alright. Just waiting for him to be exonerated so Jason can stop asking where he is."

"It'll blow over soon. Trust me."

Before Cassie can reply, a voice sounds,

"Hello." Peter.

Cassidy freezes and turns to face him as does Melissa.

"Hi." Melissa says.

Peter smiles and says, "Can you tell me where the ICU is?"

"Yep. Just take a left, down the hallway, than take the elevator to the 11th floor."

"Thank you...Melissa." Peter says, reading her name tag.

"Smooth." Cassidy mutters.

"You're welcome..."

"Peter."

"I'm gonna go pee." Cassidy says, getting up and standing around the corner.

Moments later, Peter walks by, smirking at Cassie and walking by. Cassidy rolls her eyes than goes back to Melissa.

"Guess who has a date tonight."

"Me? With a 5 year old."

"Sure. And me with a handsome man."

"Really? Good for you." No, this is very bad.

"Yep. Now I have to tell Scott...

...

Cassidy stands in the living room, blasting music and dancing. Jason's friend is bringing him home and Cassie still has another hour free.

She's dusting the fireplace mantle when arms snake around her waist. She quickly turns and knees the 'attacker' in the spot and he leans over, groaning in pain.

Cassidy's eyes widen as she sees that the attacker is Derek.

"Oh my gosh." She says, turning down the music. "I am so sorry babe. Are you okay?"

"Ya." Derek says, standing and taking a deep breath. "Thanks for that."

"Love you too?"

Derek smiles but it quickly falls. He reaches out for Cassie and pulls her into him. She wraps her arms around his neck and places her head in the crook of it.

"Are you okay?" Cassie asks after a moment of silence.

"I have to do something tonight. Something bad." Derek says quietly to her

"Than you don't have to do it. You always have a choice."

"I do have to though. I have to."

Cassie smiles a little than pulls back. Derek does the same and meets her eyes.

"You're still human. You're not a monster Derek." Cassie than brings Derek back into a hug.

"I love you Cassie." Derek says.

"I love you too."

"Look around you!" Derek yelled at Jackson. "Wouldn't there be someone here to try to save you? There's no one here. There's a reason. No one cares that you drive an expensive car. No one cares that you have perfect hair. And no one cares that you're captain of the lacrosse team!"

"Excuse me, co-captain." The voice of Scott says.

Both Scott and Derek shift and begin fighting. Jackson, afraid, leaves the Hale House through the back.

Suddenly, shots spread throughout the house,

"Cover your eyes!" Derek yells.

Derek takes cover while Scott stands like a deer caught in headlights, bullets hitting him. Scott's in human form, blood spurting out of his mouth.

"Scott, go!" Derek yells.

Scott doesn't move. Derek stands and makes his way it Scott. He pulls him up and pushes him towards the back door. Once Scott stumbles out. Derek stands and grabs hold of the door knob. He takes one last look at the back door, the turns the knob. He than growls, walking into gunfire.

...

Derek hears a loud screeching sound and notices that the door is being opened. In comes Kate Argent along with a frightened Allison. Kate shines the light on Derek and he lets out a loud roar.
