all because of you, Malfoy.

All because you denied a deal that would spare his life.

All because you didn't actually do everything in your power to save him, unlike what you promised yourself."

"Enough." Draco seethed, clearly not wanting hear anything else come out of his mouth.

And now, with one flicker of a wand, the words of the last unforgivable curse escaped the blonde's lips so easily,

and a heartbeat stopped.

But Draco knew this wasn't the end of it, no.
He immediately ran over to where Harry sat, a stake through his chest. It made the blonde nauseous, not because of the blood, but because of who it was flowing uncontrollably from, and he couldn't bear the sight.

His breathing became quicker and quicker as he swiftly held him close, bottom lip quivering, completely at loss of thoughts on what to think or do.

"You're okay, Harry. Stay with me, yeah? You're alive." He whispered breathlessly, as he got ahold of the boy's head, brushing the hair off of his face.

Harry's eyes were shut, but that wasn't enough evidence, right?

He wanted desperately to do something, anything, but the only thing he did was repeat the same exact words over and over again; he wasn't even sure if it penetrated through his heart or not.
But he knew if he pulled that stake out then it'll just make it worse.

He could try and apparate, but that'll be too risky when one of them is already severely hurt,
so he just waited.

"Come on, love. Open your eyes."

Panic began crumbling to the surface, and Draco couldn't do anything about it as he let the tears start to form on the corner of his eyes.

His emotions at that moment were unexplainable. He never knew he was capable of feeling every single sensation all at once,

grief, guilt, anxiousness, regret, uncertainty.

Everything was heightened,

and not in a good way.

"Damn it, Harry. Come on." He whispered. "Wake up." He was too close to going insane.
"Come on! Open your eyes." He repeated, easily loosing patience.
"Just open your god damn eyes, Harry!" He cried, hitting the door right above them with his palm firmly.

And just when he thought he lost him forever, he gently kissed his lips. He kept on doing that, still holding onto that tiny bit of hope.

"D-Draco."

A shaky gasp escaped the Slytherin's mouth the second he heard that raspy, low and painful voice, thinking it was his hallucinations at first.

"Harry." He began, relief slowly starting to fill him up. "Listen to me, Harry. You're going to need to stay awake, alright? Stay with me. I'll help you, we'll get out of here. You'll be okay, yeah? Just keep your eyes ope-"

"Draco." The brunette shook his head, a painful smile crept up on his lips. "I can- I can feel it-
I can feel the- stake-" He coughed, "it's in my heart."

"No. Stop talking, I'm getting you out of here." The blonde uttered quickly, completely in denial.

Harry remained smiling, "It's okay, Draco. It doesn't hurt. I'm in your arms, love, it doesn't hurt one bit." He whispered, a single tear rolling down his cheek.

"No." Malfoy sniffed, shaking his head. "No, this is not how you die, this- this is not-" His voice broke as he struggled to speak. "This is not the way it ends."

"But it is, and it's okay." Harry whispered. "Just- one thing first,"

"Anything." The blonde whispered back, fighting the urge to argue and make him want to stay awake.

Harry knew he was running out of time, but it didn't matter. He wanted to make every last second count. He wanted his final words spoken to Draco. He wanted his last breath exhaled beside Draco.

And he wanted his last heartbeat to pump for Draco.

"Do you remember- the time when I told you I wanted a-a treehouse? To build one? T-To build a treehouse? Do you- remember?" He stuttered, finding difficulty in breathing.
Draco held him tighter, trying his best to stop the blood flow just so that Harry lasts a little longer.

"Yeah, yeah I do, I do." He chuckled quietly.

"Well, now since I won't be here, I want you to build one- yeah?" Harry smiled, and the blonde returned the favor.

"But- just like you said, there's no point if I'll be staying in it alone, right?" The Slytherin painfully spoke, brushing his hand along the boy's jaw softly as another tear fell down.

"But I'll always be there with you. So don't you worry, Draco Malfoy." He spoke slowly and quietly, but meaning every single word from his heart.

Draco couldn't take it anymore. It hurts.
Everything hurts.
He grabbed the back of Harry's head and pulled him in, kissing his forehead as he quietly sobbed. This is when he knew his world ended in his arms.

"And I will always love you, Harry James Potter."

And just before the brunette shut his eyes for the last time, he managed to speak his final words.

"I'm sure we'll meet again, just in another lifetime, my love."

The end.
