I exhaled and looked up at her, a smile spreading on my lips. "Thanks Ria," I said, my voice calm again. I turned to Mattheo, seeing him look down at his food, completely unbothered. "Your hand?" I asked, lightly taking it. I examined it, realizing that nothing was wrong with it. "It's perfectly fine?" I frowned, looking at the veined hand. I froze for a few seconds, realizing his perfectly, large, veined hand.
"Wow, Lee," Astoria gasped excitedly, looking at my other marks. "You got an A in Astronomy and Potions. Oh, even an A+ in Care of Magical Creatures," she immediately dropped the papers, smiling at me brightly.
I blushed.
"An A in Potions?" Mattheo asked, looking at me.
"She has always done amazing in Potions. Best in own grade, with Granger followed in second," Draco added, looking at Mattheo.
"A? What a pity" Mattheo's voice made me frown, testing my temper.
"What a pity?" I asked raising an eyebrow. "Says someone who has probably not been in school for almost his entire life. And only joined any sort of school this year," I had sarcasm raised in my voice, somehow causing Mattheo to smirk.
"Yet I got an A+ on Potions," he said, making me feel like my heart just sank. He suddenly lift a piece of paper out of the bag next to him, putting it down in front of me on the table. I looked down, seeing the bright red A+.
I looked at him, suddenly feeling like a true failure. I pushed the paper back to him and turned to face the others without giving any response or sense of emotion. Mattheo looked at me, noticing something was wrong but before he could say anything, Draco beat him to it.
"Did you hear?" Draco asked, making Mattheo snap back. "From Monday afternoon, we can practice quidditch."
A smile spread on my lips. "We can? Really?" The excitement in my voice was real, and easily noticeable.
"I spoke to the quidditch captain. He booked the entire field for the Slytherins to practice on Mondays and Wednesdays." Draco smiled, looking as joyed as I was.
"Oh god I'm glad. I was starting to go crazy in my dorm all day," I joked, making Astoria giggle.
"You on the team?" Mattheo asked, grabbing my attention.
"Oh, yeah. I'm a keeper. The keeper. Only keeper in Slytherin." I had a smile spread on my lips, as I was quite in love with quidditch. "Draco is a seeker, but everyone knows he sucks at it." Draco scoffed, throwing me with a balled-up paper.
"You should come watch them practice. Any Slytherin is allowed," Astoria said cheerfully. "The rest of us who are not on the team go and watch. We usually watch how the entire team gets split in two and they play against each other. There's nothing as funny as seeing everyone swear at Lee."
A smile spread on Mattheo's lips, already agreeing to her suggestion. "Wouldn't miss it for the world"
His words made me smile a bit brighter. By this time I had already forgotten about my Herbology mark. I had completely moved my focus to quidditch and Mattheo's somehow perfect smile. I couldn't help myself but stare at his dark brown eyes, staring back at mine.
"Lee?"
I swung my head to the side, looking at Theo who had a smile on his lips. He stood behind Blaise, looking down at me. Everyone turned to see him.
"Hey Theo," I smiled, before turning my head down, back to the plate of food.
Everyone looked at the two of us, shocked that we didn't insult each other. Theo sat down, seeing the paper on the table. He slid it closer to him. He flipped it over, suddenly seeing the B-. He frowned, before checking the name, causing his eyes to open wide. He slowly looked at me, not wanting me to see his surprised look.
Unfortunately, I lift my head up, looking at everyone. Theo looked at me surprised, and I noticed my test in his hand. Everyone one else around us sat in silence, worried why we haven't tried to claw each other's heads off. I took a deep breath, hoping that Theo's eyes weren't about the test in his hand.
"Lee, your-"
"Motherfucker!" I shouted, softly. I grabbed the test out of his hand and stood up. "Yes Theo I did bad. Deal with it!"
Relief filled in everyone, but they knew I was pissed at Theo again when I stuffed my test in my bag and pushed myself up. I threw my bag over my shoulder and stormed down the hallway and out to my dorm, my mood clearly completely spoiled. Theo sighed, throwing his head back.
"Nice going T," Mattheo mumbled, looking at Theo. "She was just in a happy mood."
Theo scoffed. "Watch your mouth Riddle. This doesn't concern you."
Mattheo raised an eyebrow, giving a chuckle. "Don't fucking piss me off Nott. You don't know what I'm capable of-"
"Like father like son," Theo interrupted, making Mattheo glare at him harder.
"Enough!" Astoria finalized, in her sweet soft voice. "You two are acting like complete arses. It's just Lee. She has her temper, and we all know about it. Now relax before someone beheads the other."
Mattheo grew a grin, looking Theo up and down. "Won't mind that," he said daringly.
"Mattheo!" Astoria yelled, making Mattheo look away from Theo and at her.
"Whatever," he scoffed, standing up and walking off.
