5. Kai's confession

"Taehyun can do magic tricks too!" Beomgyu said while he brisk walked to Kai and snatched the book away from him. He didn't mean to come off as harsh though.

"Oh yes! I can do poker card magic tricks!" Taehyun quickly said. He grabbed the box of poker cards from one of beomgyu's drawers and took two cards out. "Watch this..." Taehyun snapped his fingers and the originally shown card changed to another one. Kai and Haruna gasped, they seemed to be enjoying the simple yet effective magic trick. Beomgyu sighed in relief, glad that both of them were distracted. Taehyun would most definitely scold and nag at him about using his telekinesis in front of others later.

After Haruna had completely calmed down, Taehyun left to the kitchen to prepare snacks for Haruna since she hadn't had lunch. He also had to prepare dinner soon too. Haruna tagged along with Taehyun, leaving Kai and Beomgyu alone in his room. Kai was finally able to get a better look around his room. It looked like a normal neat and tidy room except for the large shelves of books. Kai didn't expect Beomgyu to be a big reader.

"Are these all yours?"

"Yeah." Beomgyu seemed a bit protective over his books as he kept an eye on Kai. "They're gifts."

"From who?"

"Taehyun."

Beomgyu was never into books in the first place. But Taehyun was. Taehyun had always loved reading books. Ever since they were young, Taehyun's eyes would sparkle whenever he talked about what he had read and Beomgyu loved it. Even though Beomgyu was never interested, he would listen to him talk. He would look into his eyes whenever the younger spoke about his newly gained knowledge. He was always drawn to his alluring doe eyes that held the whole universe. Beomgyu felt dazed whenever he looked into them. Taehyun had wanted to share his interests with him, thus, he gifted him books. They would own the same books and Beomgyu would read whatever Taehyun had bought him. He always had a soft spot for him. Maybe that was when Beomgyu realised how much he adored Taehyun. Beomgyu's aura visibly mellowed when he mentioned his name.

"You really like Taehyun huh."

"Yeah I do."

Kai was taken aback by the direct confession. He turned around to face Beomgyu. Beomgyu looked at him and shrugged. He never tried to hide the fact anyways. It was just that no one asked.

"Wait, you're not even hiding it but you haven't confessed?"

"I don't plan on it."

Kai looked at him with confusion painted on his face.

"I want to wait til he realises his own feelings" Beomgyu explained. "He can be really clueless and insensitive about things like this so I'm going to give him time. Oh, by the way, I know you have something that you want to tell us so why don't you stay over for the night?" He suggested as he took a book out of Kai's hand and put it back to its original spot on the shelf. Kai nodded his head. "Let's go down, Kai...lan. Taehyun and Haruna must be waiting." Kai's heart stopped for a moment there when Beomgyu paused slightly after saying "Kai". He must had wanted to call him "Kai" as a nickname right? He didn't know who he really was right? He gulped. What else did he not know about Beomgyu? Beomgyu's expression was unreadable, actually, Beomgyu's existence was a whole mystery in Kai's opinion. Usually he would see Beomgyu goofing around with what seemed like never ending bursts of energy but today he saw so many different sides of him. He wondered which one was the real Beomgyu. Or had he not witnessed the real one yet? He stared at Beomgyu's back as they made their way down the stairs.

Taehyun was wearing an apron and feeding Haruna with a spoon when they arrived at the dining room. Beomgyu's heart melted at the sight. Ah, how he wished he could make Taehyun his right there. Beomgyu sat down at his usual seat and gestured to Kai, telling him to sit down beside him.
