To what, I just gave him a blank stare. Realizing that, I will say nothing, he started again
"I told him that I like you even though I was committed to Eve but I don't know why I felt the need to save you so desperately. The helplessness of your father was a lottery for him"

His every words seems fakes to me but somehow I'm also trusting him. I don't know what he does to me but his everything makes me believe that it's true and everything is wrong.

"I didn’t even knew that he was planning to buy you because I wasn’t in connection with him since I realized my fault and returned to my family. He was pissed off at me as I returned from his gang. So, he decided to take you as he seriously thought that I like you"
He stopped.

I looked at him more clearly. I don't know if he is saying the truth but I can feel a huge conspiracy has been hatched.

"And even though, the contract was signed, before that all the things happened. We tried to put up an end with Marshall but he backstabbed us by hiring bodyguards to kill us. And that's where my mom died while protecting his daughter. I lose my Dad, my uncle and aunt. Lastly, my sister Fairy. And then he tried to snatch Stem who was still unborn. I got him to talk and that's where I did the most regrettable work. I destroyed the life of Eve. Marshall wasn’t contempt at this. He included you and I had to take this" he stopped.

Several droplets of tear started pouring from his eyes. His voice broke and I still starred at him. How much broken he must be! How much times he had to practice this! Did some scraps changed some lives?

"I sent the two boys to bring you here but you just gave them a tough time. Afterwards, I sent Ana. Ana and Jorice aren’t our enemy, Alis"
He washed his tears with his sleeves and said with a runny nose
"Jorice was my close friend since childhood. He was also in touch with Marshall. I got to know Ana through Jorice. She was the daughter of his housekeeper. Ana and Jorice were just double agent. Marshall thought that Ana and Jorice worked for him but it was me who they worked for! And it was me who sent Finnie with Ana near Marshall because Ana would safely bring both Finnie and Stem in a safe place where Marshall can't even reach. But things didn’t turned how I hoped it would! Eve and Darius took both of them. Marshall blackmailed Ana to bring you by keeping her mother as hostage"

He stopped with his red eyes. I felt that my heart has been pierced. There were so many things going on. Behind my back. But, I was unaware. Didn’t even realized anything.
"There were loads of thing happened that I feel that it would be better if I let them explain. I involved them"
He stepped from me and wiped his eyes with a handkerchief. He called through his runny eyes
"Everyone please come here"

Without even looking, I felt footsteps. I felt warm hugs. Mike and Fred hugged me. Layken too joined them. But my eyes are fixed on Riley. He is trying hard to surpass the tears.

"Alis" my eyes turned to Fred
"We are so sorry for what happened to you" Mike said
"Well, I'm the one to say sorry. The position was yours. Unknowingly and illegally, it came to me" I tried a small giggle despite my dead heart
"Seriously Alaska? You are still hovering over a position? I don't even care" Mark said in a care-free way.
"But you deserved that. I know how it feels to see your perseverance getting killed in front of your eyes" I mean it
"Well, forget him. I felt happy when Riley knocked him from the position" Fred tried to mock him and Mike turned red.

"Shut up, you got ended up wasting a tissue paper after the final exam" Mike reminded how childishly, Fred cried. Fred flexed his arms and said
"But Riley got me passed. Actually, why wouldn’t he? I worked from his behalf"
"What did you do?" I asked Fred
"I told each and everyone in the class that they shouldn’t talk to you" he said normally
"Must have Riley told you to do that!"
"Of course. Riley will obviously use this idiot to refer this job" Mike mockingly said
"Forgot the vibe of the smack that Riley gave you after Layken's party, huh?" Fred mocked.
"Shut up" Mike twisted his eyebrows.
"Did you guys knew about all of this?" I asked with a hope that they wouldn’t know.
"No, we were told that Riley liked you. But we didn’t knew all of that" Mike replied honestly.
Thank God. It's a relief.
Layken interrupted
"Let them also have the privilege to talk to Alis. I bet they have many thing to confess"
She pointed to Emmy and Stacy who was standing at a distance, eagerly waiting to talk.

Just as soon, all stepped out, Stacy came to me by hugging. Second hug. She was always what I needed. A mother, a sister, a protector. She whispered
"Alis, we are so sorry"
"Alaska, we never meant to harm Finnie or you" Emmy said with remorse in his eyes.
"It's okay. Riley said several things. I understand"
I lowered my head. Stacy read my brain and spoke
"You can trust him. His every words are true. The story that he depicted is what got him into trouble"

I let a deep sigh out.
"I wanna confess another thing too" Emmy said regrettably
"We regret it till date" Stacy said with a burden of sadness.
"Riley sent us to bring you back from Australia at first" Emmy said

Oh wow! I didn’t knew that. But to my interest, I blurted out
"You didn’t came to take me"
"We didn’t came to take you. We just wanted to meet you" Emmy said
"Oh, that's great. I'm sorry, I never noticed you" I said
"That's because you never saw us" Stacy said
"Mafias have a clean hand" I tried to joke. They only smiled
"It's not like that. You had met an accident. That's why you couldn’t meet us" she specified and I tried to remember when I had an accident.

My memories flashed. The only incident that can be acknowledged as accident was losing my mom in the car crash. I can't remember any of other. To be honest, I never had any.

"I had an accident only once" I said confusedly
"And that was the day we came to meet you" Stacy said with sympathy in her eyes.
"It was not in our faith to meet" I said looking at the ground.

Not sure if I'm thankful or not!

"And we too had an accident. With your car. That's how Emmy became permanently paralysed"
