6. Let's have a talk

"Why don't you just kiss me already?" Taehyun blurted out.

Beomgyu was taken aback by the unexpected confrontation. He blinked. Taehyun realised what he had said and pushed past the stunned Beomgyu before scurrying down the stairs to the kitchen.

Taehyun was making kimbaps when he heard angry scolding coming from the living room followed by Haruna's loud crying. Taehyun took off his gloves and rushed to the living room to check what had happened. He saw Beomgyu holding one of the books he had gifted to him and Haruna rubbing her eyes as she cried. The pages of the book were covered with crayon colours and the walls of the living room were vandalised as well. Taehyun hurried to Haruna's side and knelt down to hug and comfort her. He glared at Beomgyu who was clenching the book with fury.

"You didn't have to shout and scare her like this" Taehyun said and rubbed Haruna's back softly. She clung to his shirt and cried loudly, feeling guilty and afraid of the mad Beomgyu.

"You don't understand." Beomgyu said through gritted teeth and ran his fingers through his hair in frustration.

Beomgyu was right. Taehyun didn't understand. It was just a book, and the wall can be painted to cover up the crayon drawings. He could just buy the same book again. Everything could be fixed so why was he so mad for? He could understand being moderately angry but being so furious? He didn't have to go to that extent. It was rare to see him cross too. Beomgyu always had the patience of a saint and Taehyun had only ever seen him infuriated once. It was worse than what he had at this moment but it didn't mean this was much better. Taehyun stayed silent, he actually felt terrified of the upset Beomgyu.

Beomgyu looked at the two and softened. He sighed deeply. "Forget about it. I'm sorry. I just need some time alone." He threw the book into the bin as he walked out of the living room.

Taehyun carried Haruna to the sofa and hugged her. He let her cry into his shirt. He stroked her back softly and kissed her head to comfort her.

"Will Beomgyu oppa hate me?" Haruna looked up with her tear stained face and asked between sobs.

"Of course not. I'm sure he doesn't hate you. He's just a little agitated today." Taehyun reassured her and smiled. He continued to hold her in his arms until she calmed down. He then patiently taught her about the rights and wrongs and that she shouldn't vandalise on other people's property. It was alright for her to explore but she should have asked for permission and they could have provided her with alternatives. Haruna listened obediently and nodded her head while pouting guiltily.

"I was making kimbaps for Beomgyu oppa. Do you want to make them with me? You can apologise to him with the ones you've made" Taehyun suggested and rubbed her soft cheeks. She brightened up at the idea.

Taehyun knocked on Beomgyu's door together with Haruna after they made his kimbaps.

"Come in."

They opened the door and entered the room. Beomgyu was sitting at his desk, busy scribbling something aggressively onto his notepad. Taehyun swore that the pen could have broke as Beomgyu literally put all his strength into writing the full stop. He technically stabbed the notepad with the pen. Taehyun instinctively covered Haruna's eyes when that happened. Beomgyu looked up at them and swept the pen and notepad into his open desk drawer before locking it up. He noticed Haruna holding a plate of clumsily rolled kimbaps and raised an eyebrow.

"Oh right... Haruna wants to apologise." Taehyun looked down at her and smiled encouragingly.

Haruna held out the plate of kimbaps to Beomgyu, her gaze on the floor. "I-im sorry for drawing on your book and the walls..." She apologised shyly.
