Chapter Twenty Three: Cid

Start from the beginning

"But now look where you are," Cass gestured to the ship with her arms wide open. "On this ship about to go to a planet to find and discover who knows what!"

"Yeah, I guess that's true!" Omega nodded.

"It's just the beginning ad'ika," Cass reassured and tied her hair up. "You've got your whole life ahead of you, don't worry."

Omega nodded surely, her young mind soaking in every word like a sponge and imagining all the places she could go in her lifetime now that she wasn't stuck on Kamino.

Cass finished wrapping up her hair then tucked her saber away in her belt.

"Did they say why we're going there?" Cass paused in front of the door.

"They wanna see if they can find some information about the woman from Pantora," Omega replied and stood at her side.

"Huh," Cass hummed and slid the door open. "I wonder if they mean Cid."

Hunter's ears perked up from the cockpit. When Cass and Omega approached, Hunter turned and met them halfway.

"You know Cid?" Hunter asked, and all his brother's followed his voice with their gazes.

"Yeah of course, she helped out the Jedi plenty of times," Cass nodded.

"She?" Echo repeated and raised a brow.

"Yeah, she's a short Trandoshian but she'll have you wanted in several star systems if you look at her wrong," Cass laughed. "Believe me, I've seen it before."

"And you don't think this Trandoshian would turn you in?" Tech pointed out, a slight tone of worry laced in his voice.

"Not at all," Cass affirmed and crossed her arms. "She can be quite discreet when she wants to be. She's good at keeping secrets."

"If you trust her, that's good enough for me," Echo shrugged.

Echo and Cass worked together to pinpoint the location of Cid's parlor, then led Tech to a landing bay not too far from it. As the boys geared up and strapped their helmets on, Hunter stopped Cass in the hallway.

"You can't be walking around with that at your side," he pointed and motioned the her lightsaber strapped to her hip. "And you don't exactly look inconspicuous."

"Well what do you want me to do? Shave my head and walk around with no weapon?" Cass pursed her lips.

Hunter sighed and hurriedly glanced around the ship.

"Ah, here," he yanked Tech by his armor and pulled him aside. "You can put your lightsaber in Tech's pack. It'll be safe in there."

"Okay," Cass dragged out her words and handed over her lightsaber, to which Hunter stashed away safely. "But what do you suppose I do about my appearance?"

Tech turned around and met their gazes. He averted his eyes for a moment, then sputtered out a reply without thinking it too thoroughly.

"She could wear my helmet," he suggested.

"That...could work, I suppose," Hunter drew his hand to his chin. "Just until we get to the parlor."

"Are you sure, Tech? I mean that's your-"

"It's fine," he reassured and blushed at the mere thought of her wearing an item of his. "It will make do until we can afford you a cloak of some sorts."

Cass nodded with a shrug and gently placed her hands on the side of his helmet. She pulled the piece off his head, slowly revealing his features that she had so quickly grown accustomed to.
