She knew you'd come for her.
"Miss you shouldn't be walking around when you're injured" a voice said, she turned to see a passenger simply trying to help her under the impression she was here to be transferred to hospital like Kujo said.
When the lady grabbed Makis arm to help her up, she pushed it away.
"No! You'll get sick..." Maki said.
The engine of the plane started up, and she was thoroughly confused. Didn't the captain say there'd be a delay? Wait, Kujo was probably threatening them because she knew you and L were on the way. At the worst possible timing, a passenger noticed Makis rash spreading rapidly, and quickly noticed the same one starting to appear on their own hands. The dots, they connected.
"ITS HER! ITS THE INFECTED GIRL!" They exclaimed.
This wasn't good, Maki tried to scramble for the open door but the yelling had alterted Kujo who was coming right for her.
With a plane starting to move, a whole cabin on now panicked infected passengers, you and L couldn't come fast enough.
"Why is the engine on? It's not meant to leave yet!" You asked, looking out the window as the truck approached the plane.
"It's Kujo, she's trying to escape us. We're going to have to go now or it'll start moving before we can get there" L replied.
Opening the sliding door to the van, he told Suruga to get as close as possible.
"Ready?" He asked.
"Let's get her back" you replied.
Leaping from the moving van, you and L booked it for the boarding stairs scrambling up them just as the plane began to move, you managed to make it in almost tripping as the stairs detached from the door.
"(Y/N)!" Maki yelled for you.
The stairs rocked when they were detached, making L grab onto the sides almost falling off.
"YOU HAVE TO JUMP!" You yelled.
The gap between the stairs getting bigger, L leapt off them, grabbing onto the edge of the doorway of a now moving plane, you grabbed his arms and pulled him into the cabin. When you both got up and turned to see what was happening, you were met with a scene from a horror movie.
That virus was powerful and spread like wildfire, the whole cabin already infected and panicking with rashes forming all over their bodies.
Kujo stood before you, holding a handgun to Makis head.
"Let her go Kujo. You've already lost! We have the antidote, you're infected and the police are on the way as we speak. It's over" you said.
"Give me that bag or she gets a bullet in her head" Kujo spat.
Maki longingly stared at you and L with tears running down her cheeks. She looked so sick you were surprised she could stand.
"What happened Kujo... how did you get this twisted?" L began.
"Shut up and give me-" She tried to snarl.
"-you think I didn't look into you as soon as this case was bought it my attention? You think I wasn't suspicious you found us at our hideout? You had connections to wammys, don't try and hide it"
Kujo fell silent, as did you. You didn't know this, but L wasn't one to keep a secret from you. He must have only found this out recently himself then...
"To think you'd be in association with us and stray down a path this vile is despicable. We all lost something or someone, but we grew from it, you're dwelling in the past and letting that trauma turn you into a monster"
